Still can't believe Cashman wouldn't pay Aceves the peanuts he was asking for.

Worked out well for us.

:dunno:

Guess I am frustrated that the FO is not making the move that I consider an obvious way to improve the team.

Obvious, and shortsighted.

I'm not going to angst about relievers who have the odd bad outing as long as the pattern is OK.

Yup I agree with that. I just think that Albers and Atch have been opposite ends of the poles more than some of the other guys. One day Atch comes in and is lights out...next time....arsonist. Albers has been the same way. I think Aceves is trending like I think you are talking about just for comparison. Morales also for that matter. Not sure why Gammons is so pissed at Tazawa. I know he did not exactly get the job done but I don't think he was terrible.

I missed most of Atch's stint but I am guessing he must have come in and walked three or walked two and gave up a hit in there someplace.

The midnight announcement tonight is gonna' be interesting.

Ugly win, but I'll take it. Gotta do something with Cook by tomorrow, and it should involve Bucky going down to the DL.

Off to walk the dog.

Now we have bard' date=' doubront, Lester, and Beckett lined up for the next four. Let's strip down and go streaking.[/quote']

When I look at his game log' date=' I'm seeing a higher ERA. Where'd you get these numbers?[/quote']

NO BRIAN DONT!!!!!

5 run lead with 3 outs to go. In the past 6 years' date=' I could go to sleep and rest easy. Not so this year.[/quote']

In all fairness, the Red Sox bullpen didn't give up a single run tonight.

After being up 11-1' date=' it's ridiculous to need 5 relief pitchers to get the last 7 outs.[/quote']

At least we can't blame the bullpen this time. Let's hope clay can figure it out, we know the talent is there. He's too good not to have some leash.

Buch will get more leash. Just think with Cook around it might do Buch a world of good to try to get straightened out without being in the spotlight so much. But he has to pitch his way out of this. So it might make sense to give him a couple of starts in Pawtucket. Do you really want to see more of Buch right now against a team of even average ML hitting talent?

Actually the guy I am running out of leash on is Youk. I said I would give it 10 more games at 14 and they are close to that now.

We have seen very little good, lots of bad and some ugly. Now the injury bug has even reared its ugly head even within the first 24 games of the season. Not sure how they find a way to get Middlebrooks up here but I think they should find a way.

5 runs to the Twins, 5 runs to the Rays, 6 runs to the A's. These are bottom of the barrel teams. He needs to go on the phantom-DL, and given an opportunity to pitch himself back into the major leagues.

Youk to the DL?

They didn't give up a single run. Period.
The lineup they faced sucks balls. Needing 7 outs, they gave up 4 hits and a walk against a lineup that is a AAA lineup. They have 2 guys hitting over .250, 4 guys hitting under the Mendoza line and two other guys hitting .206 and .200. You can put lipstick on this pig if you like.

Maybe...a total commitment to Youk is actually a guarantee of seeing more Punto than anybody wants...at least that is my opinion. So even if you put the production thing aside for a minute, Youk is already starting to miss games.

Middlebrooks damn it. If you youk starts hitting like the youk of old, we should hold onto him, but if we get 2011 youk then we shop him around and give will a chance.
