There is no easy solution when you just don't have the overall quality in the pitching staff. I prefer Bard there' date=' but could live with someone else. Not Aceves.[/quote']

I'm willing to bet that nobody thinks Aceves is well-suited to that role right now.

All of it. The last one will stir controversy though.

Controversy creates conversation. It's a good thing.

I think Padilla in the 9th would have worked this time out as well because he was throwing so effortlessly and his FB was moving all over the place.

While he may not THINK his way specifically through a 9th inning I just don't think he would allow the moment to get the better of him. By that I mean, if Padilla is sound, he will make pitches whether it is the 9th inning or not...he does not give a damn. Even though it has only been two opportunities I am convinced that Aceves can't be the closer....it is not so much for me the result as the way he is approaching the 9th inning.

Morales has closed and Melancon has closed. Next game I think V will be forced to try Melancon and if that works I might leave Melancon there. if not, as soon as Padilla is ready to pitch again, I might move him into that role.
