You have to give Rondo time to developed into a good all around player.

This guy its just a mamas boy. If he toughens up abit more and finesses his game abit more he could be dangerous.

And as far as understanding the Celts were in the shithole after the 2000 is innacurate. They still on their game.

They have made it all the way to the semi eastern conference the past 5 years or so. They just dont have that key guy.

We have.

About as far from a safe bet in this league as you'll find.

For this season only, if that. If Orlando holds on to Dwight for the year, Celtics won't even have home court in the playoffs.

And they never will with this cast of characters. Contention, and I use that term loosely, ends after this season, unless Ainge is able to turn cat piss into lemonade. Cash out and get what you can for Rondo, Pierce, and Ray. The latter two could probably be dealt the following year to contenders who need help down the stretch, hopefully for 1st rounders.

No matter how you cut it, this is our last playoff year for a little while, and then we will be garbage for the next 3 seasons. We have only a few trade chips, and Rondo is the biggest one, yet he isn't worth a whole lot. If we know his weaknesses (shooting, FTs), then the other teams know them, and then some. He is great at distributing the ball, but on offense, it's pretty much 4 on 5. Pierce is getting old and is close to Kobe territory, as in they're virtually untradeable.

The team needs to be blown up asap, getting the maximum amount of picks possible. We'll go to the playoffs this year, but I don't think we'll get out of the first round. Those younger teams will run circles around us. Garnett and Allen are both gone after this year, then we're left with an aging Pierce and a one-dimensional Rondo. 2012-13, I see a 30-52 team.

Yep' date=' for people nobody's ever heard of. This also shows that LA has two teams, even if one is a perennial loser. What's that other MLB team in Chicago called again?[/quote']

You've never heard of Eric Gordon?

All things considered, I think it was a solid deal for New Orleans. They got back an all star type player in Eric Gordon, a potential top 5 pick from the T-Wolves and a young guy with some potential in Aminu. Its better then losing CP3 for absolutely nothing, like they would of at the end of the season.

Him, yeah. Al-Farouq whatever? No.

Eric Gordon wont save that organization.

They might as well have gotten nothing.

This marks the end of any playoffs contention for that team.

They weren't even really contending WITH CP3. The past three years they lost in first round twice and missed playoffs once.. They also lost David West before the CP3 trade. That roster was not that talented and needed some pieces to rebuild. I see no problem with dealing a guy who wanted to be traded and was pretty much a guarantee to leave after the end of the season for a guy who is going to be a star in Eric Gordon and a pick that is likely going to be in the top 5. Its a good start in the rebuilding process for New Orleans.

True.

But Eric Gordon isn't exactly in superstardom status yet. I think saying he is is somewhat premature.

Just look at Rondo, George Hill..all guys who you thought were going to be something else ended up just been subpar.

Either way, New Orleans is not going anywhere any time soon.

Having a big men is ever more important nowadays.

You cant do much without protection inside the key.

I'm not saying Gordon is a superstar, or even going to be a superstar. Superstar might be a reach, I don't think he is going to be on the level of guys like Wade, Lebron, Kobe, Dwight and Durant. I think Gordon is definitely going to be a star player though, he has the potential to be a top 20 player, he can score, he has good court vision and is probably a top 5 SG in the league already.

Also, I never thought much of Rondo or George Hill... Rondo I think is a good player, but I don't think he is as good as some people make him out to be, he isn't really a player you can build around IMO, which is why I think Celtics should try trading him while he has some trade value.. There is a reason the Hornets didn't want the Rondo + others for CP3 deal and instead took Gordon. I always though Rondo benefited for playing with 3 other really good players and was overrated..

Now George Hill, I don't get this mention at all.. I've never heard anyone hype him up or anything at all and I've always just considered him a good role player.

Reck, really blew it, didn't I, calling you a Celtics fan. I'm just in the habit that when I'm dealing on a Boston board of any kind, those on it are Boston fans of all their teams with no exceptions. As you said, I struck out. And speaking of that, we did with Paul, didn't we? Screw David Stern; I wish the owners would run his ass out of the game and he'll get no support from Jerry Buss again. Your Spurs seem to hold up year after year even though they are older than the Celts and Lakers. Of course, Popovich is a great coach as his record proves and a coach can sometimes make all the difference.

We need a point guard because Fisher isn't worth s*** anymore and I drool at the thought of Dwight Howard wearing Lakers gold. Well it will all start next Sunday and I would imagine with so many teams playing back to back to back by the time of the Finals the players tongues will be hanging out in utter exhaustion.
