I can state my opinion as well. As i have. Nothing personal.

Yes you can. But somehow you're trying to limit ours.

The season ended three weeks ago. If you want to continue patting yourself on the back for the whole offseason' date=' go for it. I just think it's boring.[/quote']

I just agreed with A700, that's all, no big deal.

And iortiz swoops in with a reach-around. Get a room please. This board is turning unreadable.

The Sox lost. Some people saw it coming early in the season. Others stuck their heads in the sand and told the complainers to stfu. We get it.

Now, can we all move forward please and quit it with the "I told you so's."

There's way better crap to talk about than what is currently on here.

MVP78---You're most likely right on this, but the thread is called "THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID", and many of us are doing that right now. I suppose in a short time we will wear ourselves out and turn to more important matters like what do we do for a better 2012 when he celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park. Wouldn't a title of some kind, Division, ALCS or WS be a great way to celebrate it? Remember, the Yankees opened two YS, in '23 and in 2009 and they celebrated those openings with WS Titles. I'd like to say WHAT ABOUT US but that might sound silly. Still I think the clamor will die down and the guy who started the thread will delete and we can move on. Frankly, I'm about spent talking about this season anyway. i guess you are too.

Not limiting. Reminding you that you've already stated the same opinion. Several times. Everyone already knows.

Fred, this post began a month ago. Since the end of the season, there's been more circle jerking than actual discussion. I could be patting myself on the back for seeing this ship taking on water midseason, but I don't because it's stupid. Once the WS is over and signings begin, maybe this post will finally just go away.

I'm not sure which part you are referring to, but sometimes we say some things several times, anyway... no big deal dude.

MVP--Can't the person who started the thread just delete it as they can on other boards. I wasn't joking when I said I was all spent out discussing the whys and wherefores of this season's debacle. What I want to know is where do we go from here. I'll do my part. This is my last post on this thread. I want to move on and look to 2012.

You' date=' me and iortiz and a few others are realists. People on this board criticize us and ask us to be "more measured" in our views, but we don't run the team. [b']Those people who run the team are blowing up FO and onfield management and there will be more to come. I am pretty sure that they know what they are doing. We have been 100% right about what needed to be done management-wise this off-season, yet we are still scoffed at as being negative[/b]. Unbelievable! What we witnessed this September was the worst collapse in Red Sox history. It couldn't have been more negative. There is no way to sugar coat what happened, and it wasn't going to be addressed with a few minor tweaks. I am glad to see the owners acting with a sense of urgency and making some big changes.

BTW IMO there have been signs that this organization has not been going in the right direction for a few years already. Some of us negative nuts have been posting those thoughts. Maybe if the sycophants in the press had been a little more honest and critical and openly questioned the FO all along (like they should), the FO may have examined their actions a little more critically along the way. Instead the press acted like a Red Sox PR department until disaster struck and now they are hammering them for things like conditioning, beer drinking etc. -- all of which have been issues for more than a season.

Correction: Those of you calling for massive changes have been 100% in alignment with the upper management. That doesn't make it right. The upper management has bumbled a few things that weren't in the scope of baseball operations, so they may have bumbled here by overreaction. Only time will tell.

After the Mets collapse in 2007, they extended the GM's contract and kept the manager, they suffered almost the identical fate in 2008 collapsing and missing the playoffs on the last day of the season. Maybe they looked at the Mets as the model of what not to do.

Just think, even with these added wildcards, the Sox STILL would have missed the playoffs this year.....

7 weeks, no pieces added, still looking for a manager.

Third place.

Still November, how you dare?..

In 2004 when we went into December in our manager search' date=' we didn't need 2 starting pitchers and a right fielder too.[/quote']

Not sure what your point is here, we usually see eye to eye......

In 2004 we had the luxury of taking our time to hire a manager because the team was already built. In 2011/2012 we have a huge f***ing mess to fix, and not a single problem has been addressed....and the problem has gotten worse with the loss of our franchise closer.

Decide what the bigger need is (manager vs. roster) fix it, and start working on the other issues. So far, nothing has been done....were actually worse right now than we were at the end of the year.

My point addresses the people who are pointing to 2004 to show that this process takes some time. In 2004, the team was already in place. The manager was one of the last pieces and that decision hinged on whether they wee able to get Schilling. Right now, we have other major holes. They need to get the managerial decision out of the way so it is not an obstacle to filling the roster holes.

So what?

This year they had to deal with a departing GM, a media shitstorm and negotiations regarding the old GM leaving. Anyone with an inch of common sense knew from the get-go that this was going to be a long off-season.

After the collapse, they were going to take their time making the necessary changes. We, as fans, don't know how the internal processes works, so there's no use bitching about them and pretending like the team is incapable of doing a couple things at the same time. In the end, players will go where the money is, so not having a manager is a non-issue.

And it's still November. We haven't even gotten to the Winter Meetings.

Way to bump your thread so everyone can remember how right you were. You could have posted this in so many of the other current threads. We know and we remember. So therefore, I will bump it again. Kinda cool huh?

I'm not entirely convinced they are two different people. At the very least iOrtiz has to be A700's gardiner.

Hell, this movie should be called "The pessimist 3-Head Monster vs Sugarcoaters legion in Theo's fantasy land part 1" or something hahahaha

^This post is a good example of pure, unmitigated douche.

Stop it with the "sugarcoaters" s***. It's an insult. Aren't you always saying you don't make things personal? That's an example of making it personal. Just stop.

This is really offensive too, even if it was unintentional. What the hell is wrong with all of you?

So that's why it's taking forever to do the redraft...

Also, I have a lot of respect for iortiz. His posts make more sense than a lot of other people's on here and English isn't his first language. I'm just waiting for the day he doesn't ditto an A700 talking point.
