You want this to happen in the playoffs? I dont think so.

Of course he doesn't but lets be real. Is Francona really going to throw Wakefield 3rd in the rotation? At least Lackey is a toss up. I hope he turns it around come playoff time. I don't hate Lackey and still thinks he has pitential. He worries me though.

I don't want either pitching' date=' but Tito would pitch Lackey and sit Wake (who might not even be put on a postseason roster).[/quote']

Well, tito is not the best one out their when It comes to those things. Example would be last game.

Fine' date=' but I thought the knock on Lackey was that he only pitched well in the AL West. Now he struggles against even terrible AL West teams.[/quote']

It's an issue with the team, not Lackey. Lackey's had 1 start at Safeco since coming to the Red Sox.

Wakefield in game 3 of the playoffs? Please don't even joke about that.

Your right, Lackey worries everyone! He needs to fix his pitching soon though.

I don't think Lackey's getting better any time soon. He's a righthanded junkballer with a bad attitude and a terrible personal life.

All we have to do is hope so, while the Redsox need to figure this one out. Their pitching is not consistant. Next year, our number 1 goal is to get a good pitching rotation, and keep that rotation for as long as possible so the Red sox can get in sync.

I don't think that we will see something different for what we've seen from him, we just have to wait, cross our fingers and hope that our offense save his ass every single time he pitches in the close future.

My hope of Lackey getting better died when I saw him downing beers like he was in college at Remy's the night before one of his starts this year. He could care less if he does good or bad, he has his mind on other things.

I really feel bad for Lackey. He seems like a nice guy that tries his hardest and I like him for that.
I heard that he tortures puppies.:dunno:

Edit: I feel bad for us watching him pitch.

I couldn't describe him better.

I feel bad for him because of the personal stuff he's going through. But when it comes to the stuff between the lines, I have no sympathy. He's in poor shape, he's drinking heavily before starts and I doubt he's putting much preparation or scouting into his starts.

Drinking heavily? Source?

I was at Remy's when the team went there after a game last month to celebrate Bard's birthday. Lackey was throwing them back and he had a start the next day. If you don't believe me, ask the staff if you ever go.

Seriously? I mean, is it a common practice in the MLB? or is it just him?... If true, I can't believe that they allow him play drunk.

If I have the misfortune of seeing another Lackey start at Fenway I'm going to bring a sign that says "LACKLUSTER" and hold it up during his entire bullpen session. If he says anything, I'll say "don't like it? Then pitch better."

This guy needs a kick in the pants so he stops feeling sorry for himself.

Sorry, I should have clarified that he was drinking heavily the NIGHT before his starts, not hours before his starts.
