because Crawford was occupying the base. Hitter is automatically out and the PB is live.

If a runner is on first, batter is automatically out on a passed ball 3rd strike. Only runner can advance.

Yep. Hard to really give the Yanks pitching credit with the way we've loaded the bases all game long. Just haven't executed when we needed to.

 

Good news is we get to play three games in my backyard up here in Minnesota against a horrible Twins team. Looking forward to it

Varitek is overmatched by EVERYONE. He's hitting .152 since the ASB. The guy can't hit traffic. He's too old to be effective in August and September. Combine that with him hitting .209 all year vs RHP, and why the f*** don't you PH there. So stupid.

 

Saltalamacchia, meanwhile, has a .841 OPS vs RHP, and he's got an .875 OPS since the ASB.

 

Francona just doesn't think.

The lineups performance against Garcia was pathetic. They should have beat the stuffing out of him.

 

Yup, this is the biggest reason we are losing right now......

 

Garcia out there throwing fastballs with a high school pitchers velocity.

This kind of series pisses me off to no end... one decent effort offensively tonight (and Friday) and we sweep the Yanks back to their dump in the Bronx down three games and looking up. Instead we're likely to be down a game headed out on the road.
