I hope this isn't one of those times where Theo comes out and says "Nothing really made sense for us, we're going to try to see what we can acquire before the waiver deadline"

That's exactly what will happen if there's nobody great available. I don't know who would even be a possibility at this point. It would need to be a complete out-of-nowhere move.

And if he does? Because frankly, I didn't see that slam dunk deal either. Maybe a couple maybes that tilted in our favor, but no sure thing good deal.

Huh. I have the Trade Deadline Special on MLB network, and Sox/Sox on TBS.

The thing with twitter is that you get an idea of what guys like Rosenthal and Heyman are doing all day. Fortunately, MLB network has confirmed it by showing Rosenthal sitting in his office with his computer and phone. Funny, that's what I'm doing too. How valuable is he if he's just doing what I'm doing?

I don't think anything of note is going to happen. I think with what was out there, and what the asking price was...it wasn't in the Sox interest to pull the trigger on any of them.

This trade deadline will end with a fizz...not a bang.

It's been 2minutes without a twitter update. This is when everyone holds off so they can be the first to announce the post 1pm news first.

Well' date=' that's it right? its 1:02pm PT so... times up[/quote']

Not quite.

Trade has to be approved by the league before the deadline, but announcements can come later than that.

It's 4 OK, I'm sure we aren't done hearing about deals though. Usually news comes out after the deadline and technically teams could still be talking and the commissioner will look the other way if they wrap it up soon.

To who?

The Mariners pulled off a las tminute deal with themselves. They traded Miguel Olivo for Erik Bedard before realizing what they had done.
