The Lowrie is soft and can't hit RHP stuff is a little stale. He got hurt once, played hurt which hurt his numbers, and then he got mono. Then he came back and put up a higher OPS than Marco did against RHP last year.

Right now, he's the better player. The kid should play until he proves he shouldn't. He's clearly got more talent, so if he takes the job and runs with, good for the Sox. Marco isn't going anywhere. If Lowrie falters, they've still got Marco ready to fill in.

I tend to agree, but nonetheless, his average is way lower vs. righties.

0 runs for the rays through 3 innings. If Salty was catching i dont think would be the same.

These strikeouts are looking so easy for him' date=' must be something about Varitek.[/quote']

Salty caught his last start where he had a shut out through 7 innings, 100 pitches, and 9 ks. I don't think this game would be much different regardless of catcher

Rush him? He's hitting the cover off the ball' date=' whether it's starting or in PH duties. Play him.[/quote']

He's hitting the cover off the ball? The 0 xbh must have fooled me.

That's over his career, when a large part of that sample was when he was dealing with the injury. He may be a platoon hitter, but right now....last year + the early part of this year.....he's better against RHP and much, much better against LHP.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Just wake up? He has one tonight. And his singles have been hit very well.
