Especially because he was relatively unheard of coming up, and that he was a reliever last year, and I don't think he's had a lot of starting experience. I remember reading his story in one issue of ESPN the magazine, but that was a while ago.

I was about to post about Ogando. 13 IP' date=' 4 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K. Not too shabby.[/quote']

Only bad thing so far has been he's had to leave both starts early with a blister issue, today he left with only 79 pitches thrown and almost definitely could of gone all the way had he not had the injury today.

I'm superstitious about stuff like that.

I used the proper tact. I said it was "interesting", not "HE'S GOT A NO-HITTER GOING".

White Sox pre- and postgame show host Chris Rongey was whining, both on Facebook during the game and on the postgame show, about the fans booing Juan Pierre for making some boneheaded plays. He said booing hurts the players' psyche. He and I got into a sprited exchange on Facebook about it. He even alluded to one player (wouldn't name names, just said 'he's loved by the fans') saying he wouldn't mind a trade because of the booing.

1. Pro athletes know they live under a microscope, even more so nowadays with the advent of smartphones and social media like Facebook and Twitter. If their egos were as fragile as he believes they are, they would've quit long ago. No professional athlete got to this level being handled with kid gloves all the time.

2. This guy's a wuss. Thanks to the internet, I've listened to several other teams' postgame shows, including Red Sox and Yankees. Comparatively speaking, we're pretty freakin' nice. If this guy tried hosting a postgame show for you guys, he'd last five minutes before he ran home crying to his mommy.

I could see how someone could react negatively, or find that annoying when 40,000 people boo you at once. That probably doesn't feel good. Also, I don't think the fans of Sun Belt baseball, or minor league baseball are prone to booing players of those leagues. 40,000 drunk Chicagoans? Maybe more so.
