I think he will lead the league in RBI's rather then HR.

Gonz definitely has the power to lead any league in HR, he hit over 30 HRs in the NL West, even hitting 40 once. I understand there's games at Coors Field and Chase Field, which are both hitter friendly, but it also means SF, LA and 81 games at home, which was Petco Park. Now he's in the hitter-friendly AL East (NYS, Fenway and Camden Yards ftw). He's definitely got what it takes in place to lead the league in HRs if he's capable of hitting all those homers while playing at Petco Park, AT&T Park and Dodger Stadium for most of the season.

Too bad Theo didn't stop with AdGon. He went and got CC. Maybe he figured that Ellsbury/Boras would be too pricey. Can't see both those guys staying in Boston--not with Kalish in the wings. They need a another big RHd bat.

The sky's the limit for AdGon. He's getting comfortable lately.

Can he? Meaning...does he have the abilitiy to? Absolutely. Will he? I don't know. Miguel Cabrera can really swing the bat. Granderson is hitting really well for the Yankees too.

Yeah, my money is on Granderson leading the majors in home runs when all is said and done.

In all fairness' date=' Ichiro could make it rain if he wanted to, he just prefers to be a contact/speed/obp guy. You should see him blast souvenirs during BP.[/quote']

He need his 200h season everytime.

What I like the most in Adrian is his low Profile and humility even his $$$$-contract achived. If you look around the league (now and then) and see those super stars (A-Rods, Mannys, B. Bounds, etc .), most of them recieve a lot of flash, merchandising, go out with celebrities, make funny shows, use drugs, etc. And my man A-Gon will make and keep similar numbers (at least .300/30/100) in the game without that spotlights and bad behaviors.

What the RS gained is a whole-package Baseball player; he can make the numbers, a better locker room, guide the young players, support his teamates in a slump/personal situation, take and assume responsabilities, etc. He used to it in SD. All these are unvaluable things, and the Red Sox already paid.

Of course, it'll be fenomenal if he break some records out there (and surely he will) l don't know if HRs, but the most important thing is the Human being he is and what directly (.300/30/100) and indirectly can bring to this team.

Wait... are you suggesting that we might let Ellsbury slip away and CC would take the lead off spot? What? NOOO... I don't believe it... :(

What with Gonzo? He hits a bunch of singles, then he hits 8 homeruns in 6 games, and now he is on his singles rampage again. I want more homeruns! (not that I'm complaining about Gonzo... but homeruns man... )

True. HR's just look cool. But, however one gets their RBIs it doesn't matter, as long as you rack 'em up.

That'd be amazing if he had 160+ this season... Damn... but we're getting ahead of ourselves hoping for that I think. AGonz has never had batted over .298 in a season we'll see if he does it with the Red Sox.

He hit .304 in 2006.

He's never played at Fenway Park for 81 games a year.

True. And that's the thing. He's a LHH at Fenway, those don't hit more HR's than they can in other places. Even if the other place is Petco Park. Bot what they do hit if they know what they're doing is a ton of doubles. We are about the middle of the pack as a HR field overall, but we are usually one of the very top doubles parks in all of baseball, and that leads to average and RBI's that he wouldn't have been able to find in San Diego.

I will bet you anything you want that Gonzo hits more HR at Fenway this year than he did at Petco last year.

Not all lefties have the oppo field power that Gonzo has. He doesn't just have line drive power to the oppo field like a lot of LHH. He puts a good amount of loft on the ball, and that's going to translate to a large amount of HR.
