Looks like Wofford has a license to commit assault in this game. Fredette's been absolutely mugged a couple of times with no call.

First time watching Fredette play. Does he always force it this badly? Lots of shots with a poor foundation (footwork), and thus a lot of misses.

Yup. Seems to be the trend with all these huge scorers from smaller conferences (Morrison, Hayward, etc).

He pumps in 32 points on 10-24 shooting. That's NBA quality play. He's ready.

WTF happened to this sport? Are shooting fundamentals taught anymore?

When it comes to college ball, that's one of the biggest reasons I love watching Duke. They almost always play smart, fundamentally sound basketball. Really enjoyed the backcourt of Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith last year.

I like watching Izzo's teams play, too. He's a great coach, and his team always plays fundamentally sound basketball.

And on your first point, I don't know how much you've seen of him this year, but take a look at Kemba Walker's stat lines. And to think he might be the front runner for POY...

Absolutely, and Izzo gets it done without those NBA ready superstars. I mean, the best player on his championship team was Mateen Cleaves. His system is just so good, and he teaches so well, that his teams are usually title contenders. The one MSU game that always sticks out to me is the regional final in 2009 against Louisville, who was the overall one that year. Instead of playing their tempo and guarding them on the perimeter, Izzo packed the paint and made Louisville beat them from the outside, something they simply couldn't do.

He's had a lot of success with a lot less talent than many of his peers at big programs.

They are getting worked a little right now, though.

Been a strange year for them. The talent is there with Lucas, Summers, and Green (although the Lucious suspension hurt), but they just never really got it going this year.

I f***ing hate duke. I wish they would get the death penalty

That's a lot more likely to happen with a Calipari team. Great recruiter (probably because of boosters), pretty unremarkable coach.

Posted
Coach cal isn't that good of head coach, the only reason his teams do well is because of his recruiting of course and his assistant coaches
Posted
Yeah the one thing you can always count on with Cal's teams is a disappointing performance in the tournament. One foul away from winning a championship ... he really does struggle with in-game decisions.

That is why he has assistant coaches.B) Don't ask me what happened in the championship game. I was cheering for Kansas

Why does he recruit so well, that's what I wonder? He's had a long career of landing very good ball players, at some pretty smallish schools (UMass, Memphis....not prime time basketball programs), all the while coaching them to accomplishments probably below their talents. Yet he still continues to get good players. Nobody is that charismatic, IMO.

He coaches one and done players, they don't have the expierence (most of the time his team doesn't have that much expierence either) for the NCAA tournament so they struggle. I really think they should change the rule to stay 3 years or come right out of high school. For PGs coach cal and the scouting coach whose name I forget walk into their home and show them the picture of coach and derek rose and john wall beside him and they come to UK. I know off topic.

I hope WVU doesn't bring back the 1-3-1 zone on saturday

Well, the fact that he got stripped of his final four appearances probably speaks to your point.

How does someone take the SAT or ACT whatever it was for someone? You have to show your ID.

To contradict my point when I took the ACT on tuesday I just had to tell her my name she didn't look at the picture

There's some pretty suspect officiating going on in the MSU/UCLA game. UCLA seems to get to the stripe on anyting contested by MSU on their end, and is being allowed to make some contact on their challenges on the other end. The FTA disparity is 23/16, so it bears watching.

I cant believe Michigan just dominated Tennessee like that. I mean I picked Michigan to win but didn't expect the game to be a huge blowout like that.

Hope I have a better day today than I did yesterday.

I think Bruce Pearl can kiss his job goodbye.

I didn't realize before this tournament how awesome Brandon Knight is. If he's still around when the Knicks pick, which remains to be seen, that's who I want.
