Beltre is supposedly hurt. According to DanBarbarisi

Beltre appeared to pull up running out that grounder. Touching his hamstring at first base. But no trainers coming out.

Don't have a problem sending Buch back out there but I want Bard ready at first notice. Upton has good number vs Buch however...

I guess so...

Francona is a f***ing idiot. Bard should have started the inning. Clay is at 107 pitches going into 8th and Upton came into game hitting .429 against him.. I very rarely question Tito...but he f***ed up BIG .

No leash is short enough to prevent that.

True.

But I still think bringing Buch back was the right move.

Good strategy. Just poor execution!:D:D

...and we have the bottom third due up in the 9th. I need a drink.

I'm pouring some vodka as I type.

That's multi-tasking!;)

I'm with you. No one had hit him hard all night. 108 pitches is not too many. I don't like bringing in the kid Dubront here. This scares me.

How is leaving Buc in there good strategy? He is at 107...gave up his only run the previous inning.. Hung a changeup to Joyce in the 7th that a good hitter would have put into the seats.. Not to mention the fact that Upton has owned Clay in the past and hit a rocket earlier in the game that Kalish grabbed.

did you see how he gave up his run in the 7th inning?

I dont disagree, going to what got you here is the way to go, but there was no sign of a letup from Buch prior to that pitch to Upton

I'm half worried he'll turn into MDC2. Talented but wildly inconsistent.
