It's actually a pretty good lineup against a lefty. The 2-9 hitters all have a career .800+ OPS against left-handed pitching. Not bad for a team with 2 of it's starters on the DL.

1 of those guys is a career minor leaguer whose stats don't mean anything, 1 is Bill Hall who has been pretty bad the last few years (2009: 0.606 OPS vs LHP), and one of our best hitters (V-Mart) isn't in the lineup. It's embarrassing.

McDonald really isn't that bad of an option right now. He's hit well against lefties over his major league career and he's a really hot hitter right now. He had a 1.000+ OPS before being called up. And Hall hasn't been that bad the last few years. In 2008 he had an .893 OPS against lefties and the year before he had a .795 OPS against lefties.

 

Is it a perfect lineup, nah. But it's potent enough against a lefty.
