Never made a game thread in my 5 years here. Always wanted to. So I'm doing it. If I just can't up and do it then I apoligize, you can delete this and someone else can make it.

Jon Lester 7.20, 0-1 vs Matt Garza 1.13, 2-0

Lester pitched 5 innings in his last start against the Twins, gave up 4 earned runs. Matt Garza pitched 8 innings in his last start and gave up only 1 earned run against the Orioles.

We are not the Orioles. We got this. Today, we catch EN FUEGO

You know, if the Red Sox don't pick it up soon, I won't make as much money on StubHub selling Yankees/Sox tickets.

This isa terrible lineup. Just terrible. We have to hope that Varitek stays hot. Ortiz is sitting just when he has been putting some good ABs together. He has hade Xtra base hits in the last two games. Youk should be moving across the diamond to play 3B with Vmart playing first. Drew is swinging terrible, but he'll be protecting Youk and the flailing beltre will be batting 6th. Lowell had two knock last night, but he is sitting too. I expect more errors and no offense today. This is not shaping up very well. We are not even treading water at home.

Right now, I am in second-guessing mode. After the game, I will be whining. I am not used to making the trip here to see three losses in a row.

More second guessing from me. We were talking before the start of the suspended game last night. Some of us would have gone to Papelbon at the start and then Bard for two innings. The game would have had to go 13 innings for MDC to get a chance to blow the game.

In case you missed it, Pap was busy elsewhere... helping his wife with the birth of his first son. I'd say that's reason enough not to have him pitch last night.

Jonathan Papelbon had a very good reason for missing the Red Sox' games against the Rays at Fenway Park on Saturday.

Papelbon's wife, Ashley, gave birth to 8-pound, 8-ounce Gunner Robert Papelbon, Boston.com reports. Red Sox officials announced the news in the Boston press box before the continuation of the ninth inning of Friday’s game.

Gunner Robert measured in at 21 inches. He is the couple’s second child and will join 15-month-old sister Parker on the Papelbon family roster. Earlier this winter, the closer said Gunner Robert didn't have any special significance except being a "badass name." There's still no word if Pap celebrated the birth of his son with dancing.

I went to the game so I heard none of the pre-game. Today's players are ridiculous with having their kids during the season. My kids were born October 30th and February 12th, and I got married during the baseball strike. They are very careless about their profession.;)

That's some dedication right there. I'm impressed.

They also are ridiculous with the name-giving. Gunner?

I know Ashley is married to a rich athlete, but don't let the guy name your kid. (he told a reporter back in Jan. that the name is his idea.)

It just worked out that way. I can't claim that i planned any of it, not even the baseball strike. (BTW it was the 1981 strike). On my 25th wedding anniversary, I pitched for my softball team. The wife was pissed, but the other pitcher was out of town. We lost 4-3 and our tying run got thrown out at the plate in a situation like Friday night. It was a loser all the way around for me. I sent very nice flowers though.
