and came back when the yankees started threatening again ;)

Nah, I always hit the treadmill in the 7th inning since most of the time, the game is wrapping up when I am done.

On another note, f*** Joe Girardi. I hope he gets hit by a runaway bus. How do you leave Kearns in the game here. f***ing ridiculous.

Then he pinch hits for Berkman when a gimmick lefty is in the game and gets one-upped by the opposing manager going to f***ing Balfour.

how did he get outmanaged there?

he went from a .179/.273/.269 hitter against lefties facing a lefty to a .280/.364/.587 hitter against righties facing a righty. that seems like a great move to me

Choate is a gimmick lefty, the type that gets owned by righties. Berkman would have guaranteed a righty vs lefty matchup rather than a righty righty matchup with Thames

Miranda was a better option. He at least has shown some ability to hit big league pitching

Would have been a marginal upgrade at best.

What bothers me if letting Hughes face Johnson. Your bullpen has been so good, why not put it in their hands?

now you're just being illogical becuase you're upset. you can't possibly prefer berkman against a lefty, who he's hit .179/.273/.269 this year to thames against a rightie, which he's absolutley mashed this year

Chamberlain is just lights out right now. Would have been nice to see him at some point in the seventh inning. The bullpen is the strongest part of this team. With Hughes up near 100 pitches, put the game in their hands.

that yankees bullpen is scary

I guess this is sarcasm, although I don't really get it. Chamberlain, Wood, Robertson, and Logan are all really throwing well right now.

Thames has never hit righties well in his career. This yr is an abberation. Righties hit .421 with a .658SLG vs Choate. Keeping Berkman in guarantees the matchup you want. Putting Thames in gives you a R-R matchup, which is advantage pitcher

it's not sarcasm. the yankees bullpen is very, very good
