Florie's was even scarier. He caught it full in the face and just sat there with blood pouring out of - everything. Never lost consciousness and talked through the entire ordeal. That was the scariest thing in sports I've ever seen.

Trevor Hoffman this year's Brad Lidge?

Trevor Hoffman was rocked for five runs and two homers in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Pirates.

Staked to a 3-2 lead in the ninth, it didn't take long for Hoffman to melt down. A leadoff homer by Ronny Cedeno tied the game. Hoffman got an out, but allowed two hits before an intentional walk loaded the bases for Ryan Doumit, who smacked a grand slam to right field. Hoffman has now blown three saves and is now 1-2 with an ugly 13.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. He's allowed five homers in eight innings. Yeah, it's just April. But one wonders how much longer Milwaukee will put up with his ineffectiveness in the ninth inning.

Why is Ned Colletti calling out Matt Kemp? Kemp is a stud. He and Ethier will be the faces of the franchise for many years to come.

Hoffman blows another save' date=' now it's just sad.[/quote']I live for the day when we can replace Hoffman's name with Mo Rivera's in a statement like this.

Indeed. Unfortunately we may have to wait a few more decades or so until he slows down.

It's funny, no one ever seems to say anything bad about Mo Rivera. Even Sox fans respect that he is great and still going strong. How can you "hate' this Yankee?

Still, everyone has a skeleton in their closet. Maybe he's a pedophile, woman beater, or juicer? :o:D

I hate him to the core. I wish he had gone swimming with his relatives in that electrified swimming pool of his. I still think that heshould be in jail for multiple counts of negligent homicide. I respect what he has done on the field, and I am sure he is no worse a person than anyone else, but while he is wearing those pinstripes my hatred for him runs white hot.

Got to love your passion!

I don't know much about his pool problems. However, he is a Sox killer. For that, he must pay!

I miss the nasty Yankees, the dirty, scum sucking, mean, bastards that you could really wrap your hate around and let it fester. Where have you gone Thurman Munson? Remember that era? Now we have Jeter with his manicured nails and Rivera who between innings saves kittens trapped in drain pipes. I hate their niceness, their smug dignity, their suave charm - it's friggin' revolting. God Bless Joba the Hut, now there's a jackass that inspires true disgust - just like the old days.

Speaking of cheap shot artists, there was none more loathesome than Craig Nettles. I really loved to hate those guys. I miss them. I hope Rivers and Nettles are living in the street with gutter rats, and I pity the rats that have to share their space.

That's back when it really was a player's rivalry, instead of a fan's rivalry. Since those days, with a brief revival sparked mainly by Pedro, the players just don't seem to have any dislike for each other anymore (obviously with a few exceptions - like you said, the Sox don't like Joba).

Halladay threw a complete game shutout (3 hits' date=' 6K, 1 BB) vs the Mets today. Lowered his ERA to a ridiculous 1.47, 5 wins already.[/quote']

Lincecum's ERA is an even more ridiculous 1.27, although it's crazy to think that without 1 unearned run against Houston, Halladay would already have 3 complete game shutouts this season.

I really hated that the Yankees got Curtis Granderson. Aside from the fact that he's a really good player, he seems like a legitimately nice guy. I still hate him now that he's a Yankee, but I'd much rather be pulling against true asshats like Joba and A-Rod than people like Granderson.
