  1. Couldn't have waited one batter for that?
  2. AL - Verlander NL - Kershaw I really don't think Kennedy even cracks the top 3 in the NL CY race. Kershaw, Halladay, and Lee are killing him in ERA, WAR, K's, and to a lesser extent, IP. You can't really even try the argument about supporting casts given that the Diamondbacks offense has scored more runs this year then both Philly and LA (obviously). Kennedy is basically even with Halladay in terms of run support (Halladay gets .02 more RS this year) and gets more run support then either Lee or Kershaw.
  3. Tons of gamesmanship near the end by both teams. Both starting pitchers acted like little girls, Weaver for yelling at Ordonez, and Verlander for throwing a hissy fit because he couldn't handle a bunt and then telling Aybar he's going to hit him the next time he pitches against them.
  4. Congrats on getting Crawford. He should really help Boston bounce back after this past season. Well, that and not having half your team go on the DL. While seeing the Sox have a down year here and there is kinda fun, the AL East is much more interesting when New York and Boston are firing on all cylinders.
  5. Kinda like the whole Dusty Baker / Mark Prior / Kerry Wood scenario?
  6. Phillies managed to pull out a 3-2 win today. Although that's still putrid when you consider 2 of the runs depended on the pitcher getting a hit and being handed a bases loaded walk.
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5248118 Selig says he won't reverse the call, although I'm sure this doesn't surprise many people, if anyone.
  8. MLB should get him the hell out of Detroit for his own safety.
  9. Did the Tigers officially inform the umpires of a protest before the next pitch was thrown? If not then none of this interpretation stuff matters in the least.
  10. MLB can't get involved and overturn a call like that under the current rules unless I'm mistaken.
  11. Jim Joyce.

  13. If the Guardians get a perfect game thrown against them I hope someone puts up a new Youtube clip of Bruce Drennan's reaction.
  14. Galarraga is perfect through 8. And he's only at 75 pitches.
  15. What I'm arguing is this absolute assertion that Jiminez is the best pitcher in the majors and it isn't even close. That statement was based off of what, 1/3 of a season? That's much too short a time frame so if you're going to go off of ridiculously short periods of time why not just go with the last start each pitcher made? I can't see Jiminez being declared the best pitcher when he pitches in the JV league. If he continues this trend (relatively speaking, doesn't have to be a sub 1.00 or even 2.00 ERA) for more then a single season, then people can start declaring him the best pitcher in MLB.
