Let me tell you what really sucks.

Not only did the Yankees lose the game....but Utley's second homerun...I dropped it. No one around me, but he hit a laser, and it went off my hands. Watch the replay, I'm the one in the light brown jacket and the gray hoodie.

f***.

Damn bro, that sucks!

The Philly GM has gotten his team to back to back World Series. He's doing a pretty good job.

This quote is not logical. The Phillies GM was hired last off season to replace the GM that was retiring. You know the guy who built this WS contending team  lol

Anways a 700 you are and will probably always remain the only on the site who wants to trade Buchholz at this point. You are just a young player hater and will always prefer the verteran. Just like in the cases of Pedroia, Ellsbury, Youkillis(any others I'm forgetting?). Given your track record I would imagine Buchholz will be a Cy Young contender next season;)

Am I the only one who thought the Star Wars music during the announcing of the starting line up was pathetic and inappropriate? Especilly having the Empire theme played during the intro of the Phillies and the Jedi theme played during the intro of the Yankees. Embarassing and pompous.

But do it again tonight, please, it obviously fired up the Phillies!! What a GREAT game!!!! Cliff Lee was $$$$$$$$. GO PHILLIES!!!!

I did think this was dumb. The Yankees seriously trying to play the under dog, good guy card..... Hysterical...

I never hated any of these guys, but I would move anyone, young or old in a trade to improve the team, and Buchholz for Lee would have improved the 2009 team, maybe to the point of the ALCS or beyond. He also would improve the team next season as well. Buchholz has really accomplished nothing so far. He has talent, and he has shown promise, but he has accomplished nothing beyond one game against Baltimore in 2007. I don't know why people take it as "hate", because I would favor trading a player to improve the team. Maybe Buchholz will be really good, but in 2008 his horrible growing pains cost the Sox the East Division title and loss of home field advantage may have cost another Championship. This year he didn't help improve the team over what it did in 2008. I'm not laying the failure of this team at his feet, but if he had been a 17 game winner he could have pushed the team to a higher level. He is 3 years in developing at the major league level. He had a cup of coffee at the ML Level in 2007, but he had an opportunity in 2008 to crack the rotation and he s*** the bed so badly that it set him back 2 years. If he had been moved for a high performing veteran in the 2007 offseason, the last two season could have had better outcomes. If he doesn't step up next year, that will make 4 years of growing pains. He'll be 25 next season. To me, he's at a crossroads. Lester went through some growing pains and cancer as well and he broke out in a big way when he was 24.

Am I impatient? Yes, I am, but the core of this team is in place, and it needs 1 or 2 big pieces to make it a Championship team. You don't get those pieces for free. They cost talent. If you keep Bucchholz and he has another meh season and you pass on a big time guy like Felix, the core gets 1 year older without a championship. Before you know it, guys are aging out of their primes by time Buchholz steps up to be a star. I don't hate Buchholz. That terminology is just ridiculous. This team is built to win now. Other posters like Example are talking about getting studs like King Felix and Adrian Gonzalez. They will cost us most if not all of our blue chippers. We are not getting those guys for Aaron Bates. Example is not a hater of prospects. Felix is going to cost us Buchholz.

The Phillies are getting 1 1/2 runs tonight. Not great odds, but I took the bet. I probably let the heart interfere with the head on this one. My allegedly objective reasoning is that Philly is a very tough team with an excellent lineup, and I think they will keep all of the games very close, even if they lose. Also, Burnett is susceptible to throwing a stinker in a big game. The tone for both of these pitchers will be set in the first 2 innings.

I think both Pedro and AJ are getting hammered tonight.

Phillie is not letting AJ off the hook if he's wild.

last night was a good game until the bullpen.

i think this one will be a hitter's game. this one after last night for me at least is a toss up game. It not gonna be a pitcher's duel in my mind i see a game like game one of the 04 series. 11-9. High scoring.

Gom, sorry about not catching that laser shot. Where's the Glove?

I gotta admit Im pretty pumped about seeing Pedro tonight. And I've always liked the players on the Phillies, especially Rollins, Hamels, and Utley but I think now Utley is my favorite non-sox player (besides Mauer)

Someone left it in his cab.

Yo Clint.

How about the fact that according to Jacko ,CC was "Clearly better equipped to go the distance" than Lee?

Burnett if definitely prone to stinkers, but I don't think this being a big game has anything to do with it. He's pitched in three "big" games in his life, and had a decent line in two of them. Regardless, I think tonight will be very high scoring.

I don't really believe in calling games "must win" unless the team is facing elimination, but the Yankees will be in a ton of trouble if they lose tonight.

Burnett has a pretty good shot at winning even if he gets hammered IMO. The weather will play a big factor, but against Pedro.
