Kenny Williams is worse...

Not even close. Hendry is like Cashman's retarded cousin. They both spend a lot of money on FAs. But unlike Hendry, Cashman learns from his mistakes. Hendry is clueless.

I lol'd at this.

Oh, and Bill Smith is the worst GM I've ever been through. Santana for Gomez, Garza, Bartlett, etc for Young? Eek.

The offense was very inconsistent especially in big games. These moves will weaken the offense and make it more inconsistent. Lineups without big power threats and little speed (other than Ellsbury) are very prone to inconsistency' date=' because most of the time they will need to get 3 hits/walks in an inning to score runs.[/quote']

I guess the offense will be worse, and may not exceed 830 runs scored, but I think you are overvaluing the offense. Plus, adding age regression and balancing some of the luck that went the Yankees way in 2009, I just don't see a team that is 15 games better than the Red Sox.

John Lackey replaces Brad Penny, and the defense will be the most improved aspect of the team. Barring a Gonzalez trade, this will be one of the worst offensive Red Sox team in recent memory, but they potentially have the ability to have the best combination of pitching and defense.

As presently constructed, I like this team a lot in a postseason matchup.

I agree for the most part, however, adding a strong bat makes us that much better. We already have the best rotation in baseball, and like you say, the defense being stellar as it is, but we're taking a step back offensively if we don't make a move. However, I think we do make a move, I simply don't see us standing pat with someone like Kotchman. We need to replace Lowell's bat with someone superior, such as Gonzalez or Beltre. Either way, I think it improves mightily over Kotchman.

I can't believe Sabean's name hasn't popped up for worst GM yet lol

Why should it? He s*** the bed with the Zito signing, but his overall body of work is not even close to being the worse.

Posted
Yeah' date=' I agree. He's drafted well, especially pitching.[/quote']

Most of his FA signings and trades as of late have panned out with the exception of Garko.

He's damn lucky Cain and Lincecum are as good as they are other wise his incompetence as a GM really shows. He's never been good at signing FA's and the offense he currently has is absolutely horrible.

IMO he wasn't lucky to get Lincecum and Cain. If you strike twice with Ace-caliber pitchers in drafts so close to each other, you know what you're doing. Luck plays a pivotal part of course, but not the most important one.

Yeah, agreed again. There's maybe 10-15 pitchers of that caliber in the entire big leagues, and Sabean developed two of them. He gets a lot of leeway for that.

Dave Roberts (3 years/$18 million), overpaying for Aaron Rowand

Ya definitely, I give him all the credit for drafting them. However, outside of those two guys the rest of the organization leaves a lot to be desired.

Well he's built a nice bullpen, and had Noah Lowry not gotten injured, the Giants would have probably had the best pitching in the NL. The construction of an offense is certainly a daunting task for Sabean though, specially since Bonds "retired".

what about Sandoval.

Fred Lewis isn't a horrible player.

Sandavol is a fat ass though.

He can be as fat as he wants if he's putting up .943 OPS seasons. Prince Fielder can attest to that.

True that. When I sim an entire season in the Show 09 he is always in the top in BA in the NL(not saying that makes him good or anything). I really like him. With a high Ops and from what i have seen out of him when i have seen a few games i like what i see.

Zito, Rowand, the Joe Nathan/Liriano/AJ trade were all terrible.

I will admit he has been able to draft some solid pitching and Sandoval looks good. But his major trades and/or FA signings have been unspectacular.

The Sanchez trade and that team's pitching say he's not as terrible as you say.

No the pitching is good. It's everything else that's been mediocore.
