See what happens when Sox fans root for the Yankees? They stage a 9th inning comeback that will likely jolt them even more into continuing their dominance. God I hate the Yankees.
Ooooh soooo close, but

Almost a Yankee Yes Classic, but it wasn't to be.

:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah...just remember...if you lose to the Rangers or Rays by one game...it was oh so close...

I love this series. I really don't care who wins each game.

Agreed' date=' any Sox win accompanied with a Yankees loss is a good day.[/quote']

no today .. keep it real .. boston have no chance to catch the yankees and today was one more probe down 10-5 almost comeback to win that game..

I think you're poorly mistaken. If you can recall back to earlier in the season, many Yanks fans had the same feeling when Boston was up by 5.5 games.

You know that is a load! You know you care because if the Yankees get swept and the Sox win the next 2 games the Yankees will only have a 4 game lead. Having said that, the Yankees do not want to play the Sox in a 3 game set with anything less then a 4 game lead because they have already shown you they can sweep the Yankees.

I never root for the Yankees. Ever. I'm all for the Rangers, especially since living in New Jersey with all Yankee fans, I made the extremely bold prediction earlier that despite our at the time 7.5 game deficit, we would win the division, and I'm sticking to my guns.

It's ridiculous to see and hear Sox fans rooting for the Yanks to win in hopes of furthering our WC lead. With a little less than 40 games left' date=' it's easily possible for us to win the division. I don't get why everyone is writing that off. A Sox win streak coupled with a Yanks losing streak is not out impossible. Good lord.[/quote']

I want the Yankees to beat Texas so we'll get a bigger wild-card lead, and then I want them to lose to every team they play for the rest of the season. The Yankees winning tomorrow and then losing about 12 in a row would be nice.

When them winning would be better for the team you root for the most.

Last time I checked, the Yankees losing is also good for us. Can we please stop acting like the division is already sealed. We still have 36 games to play. Winning the division is priority #1, the race isn't over, thus the Yankees losing would be the better result for the team. I'm sick of this "I'll settle with the Wild Card, let the Yankees take the division, and root for them to beat the Rangers". How the f*** do you talk yourself into rooting for the team leading your damned division. Holy s***.

Damn straight!

Like you can't make up a 6 game deficit in a month.

They gained 9 on us in August.

Why the f*** can't we do it to them in September?

I disagree. I think making the playoffs is priority number 1. And taking that a step further, obviously winning the World Series is priority number 1. So therefore making the playoffs is priority 1a, and winning the division is priority 1b.

I wasn't cheering for the Yankees directly. More for the Rangers to lose. It helped give a little padding in the WC race is all, while losing no ground to the Yanks. I was hoping they actually would split the series up and the Sox could gain some ground on both fronts. But as long as the Sox are winning and gaining ground somewhere it's all good.

Really the Rangers should want to lose so the red sox can sail with the WC lead.

If the Rangers were to go into the Playoffs with WC lead they would have to face the yanks and we all know they would get demolished. lol

Priority 1 is making the playoffs

Priority 1 is winning ballgames, because if you don't do that, you can't make the playoffs anyway.

The point is not winning the division, but how a so-called Red Sox fan can bring himself to cheer for the Yanks.

It's disgraceful, and whoever does it is deserving of a very fashionable pink hat.
