For all of his tough guy attitude, he sure did get tossed by Porcello, didn't he? I'd love to see him go after Joba. If a beanpole like Porcello can toss him him to the ground, Joba would probably go medieval on his ass.

I've been looking for a guy who's a bigger douchebag than Gom ever since i joined this board.

My attempts have failed.Miserably.

And you couldn't have posted this in the active thread on the same subject.

Sorry, my work firewall blocked "Youk is f***ing selfish".

You weren't here when JHB is there.

It's like bullfighting, when someone is sprinting at you it's pretty easy to step to the side at the last second and use their momentum to bring them to the ground

Youk was pretty successful in the "brawl". When was the last time that a batter was able to bring the pitcher down after charging the mound. In that situation it is the pitchers sole responsibility to avoid being taken down which Porcello could not do.

Porcello=FAILURE

It looked to me as if Youk got in a few shots while underneath Porcello on the ground. Not an awful showing from Youkilis, despite getting thrown down.

I'm thinking of dressing my sandwich like porcello before beating it senseless then submitting it to d'angelos sandwichoutrage website. I think its guaranteed to be picked to air during a Sox game on NESN.

Plus Porcello trying to run behind Cabrera didn't make him look macho. Or him trying to act tough by yelling at the ump after he got tossed made him look as tough as your average internet bully.

Porcello may have "won" the battle, "won" being in quotes due to the high number of stupid people who can watch a video in front of them and still have no idea what the f*** is happening, but Youk won the bigger battle as Porcello leaving the game hurt the Tigers and possibly cost them the game.

Youk is a pussy. He got thrown down by a guy who weighs 98 pounds. It reminds me of when Ventura rushed Nolan Ryan.

Let's not forget that 98lb Ellsbury knocked Joba ass over tea kettle sliding into home earlier this year, so yeah he would be a tough opponent.

I agree.

Although, JHB was a stickler for the rules just, about all of his posts could spark a discussion.

you are comparing that string bean to Nolan Ryan?!?

just stupid...and I would blame the toss on more of a good move by Porcello than a bad move by Youk.

I have no problem with people who tend to lean more toward the rules rather than away from them. Flaming insults should not be tolerated. This is a board where we discuss baseball, and although it sometimes resembles a bar more than a boardroom, having dynamic minds like JHB around really improved this place.

I know people didn't want to "placate" a single poster, but I don't think that keeping people from insulting others unnecessarily is really placating. If it is in the rules, it is in the rules.

I, for one, appreciate the thought he put into his posts and he literally helped change the way I think about and discuss baseball. That can't be said about many posters here.
