Hi guys and girls,

I have been a fan of the Red Sox for a couple of years now, mainly due to the fact that I'm a Patriots fan so follow all the Boston teams. I haven't had much chance to watch any Baseball games so even after two years I know very little about the rules. Last week I purchased the MLB.TV HD package just in time to see the series against the Yankees, so now I've got more access to Baseball I'll hopefully pick up the rules.

So yeah that's me :)

Welcome. How did you become interested in baseball having had so little exposure to the game?

I'd watched a couple of movies with Baseball in and it looked like an interesting game, plus I have quite a lot of friends who like the game (mostly Red Sox fans). Now I have the MLB.TV I'll be watching as much as i possibly can. Just need to find more access to the NHL and NBA now.

Just from watching the Yankees series last week my favourite player is Ellsbury, I'd love a Red Sox jersey with his name on it but they are quite expensive to get shipped over here etc.

Do you watch the NFL?

Welcome to talksox' date=' mate. I'm happy to no longer be the only Englishman here.[/quote']

Wow! that's quite surprising, I know quite a few Red Sox fans from the UK so I thought at least a couple would have found their way over to this forum by now. Maybe it isn't as big over here as i thought it was, any Welsh, Scots, Irish on here?

Have you ever visited Fenway? that's something I'm hopefully doing next year at the same time I visit Gillette Stadium.

I do mate, I'm a big Patriots fan.

I'll be going to my first live game this year in October when they come to London to play The Buccaneers at Wembley and I'll hopefully be visiting Boston next year to see them at Gillette.

I've been to Fenway a few times. I go to the States frequently and the Red Sox are the only team of mine that I've had the chance to watch live. I've also been to the old Yankee Stadium.

I know there's an Irish guy here and I thought that was it. At least in terms of recent/frequent visitors. I bet there were others before I joined.

I love the Reds.

I organized a Super Bowl party in a Bar in Liverpool City centre February just gone.

Three lads from Boston turned up (all Fulham fans) and mentioned something about Boston having an Official Liverpool Supporters Club. It was called the Phoenix if I remember correctly.

I heard the games at Wembley are very successful and the English enjoy it. BTW I'm and Arsenal fan but love Stevie Legend.

Thanks for the offer, I'll definitely be doing that  It's all the stats that baffle me the most if I'm honest, I don't have a clue where to start when it comes to them. I'll try to be here tonight at game time.

The games at Wembley are very successful, it's been a sell out for the past 3 years if I'm not mistaken. The NFL has a big fanbase over here, more so than Baseball, even I was shocked at the size of it.

Stevie Gerrard is a massive legend :D every single one of my Liverpool Jersey's has his name on it.

The NFL games at Wembley are very popular! I've spend a significant amount of time in London and I'm going back or the Pat's game this October. I was there for the first game 3 years ago. Tickets are surprisingly hard to get now.
