Hughes starting game 2 for us is a win and Mariano in the 8th tonight is a win. If Girardi managed by actually watching the game and caring about each game vs Boston' date=' then we might have left town with 2 wins, instead of another sweep.[/quote']

You cannot mark either game down as a win, especially tonight. When are you saying that they should have went to Rivera? After the Drew single? Rivera, with first and second and nobody out, against the heart of the order, is no guarantee. And then he still needs to pitch another inning.

tonight. And any night vs Boston we need him to. A game vs Boston is worth 2 games in the standings.

Aside from that, it really should be pretty much off the table until September though, no?

What did you get at Taco Bell? Thanks for getting me hungry. My wife and kids are in bed' date=' and it's even money that I'll be in the truck within 15 minutes making a border run now.[/quote']

Four steak and nacho cheese chalupas (with no tomato), two crunchy tacos, a steak quesadilla (with no jalapeno sauce), some nacho cheese for dipping said quesadilla, and an extra-large Baja Blast, which I of course refilled, being the most AWESOME SODA EVER.

And my wonderful stepfather paid because he wanted me to go buy milk.

You know you've hit bottom in your managerial career when you're out-coached by Tito.

I agree, this isn't Cashman's fault, he acquired the talent. The Yankees have talent, no doubt, possibly more than the Red Sox, but they don't have a team. They have 25 individuals, and that is an organizational failure that goes right to the top. Hank or Hal... whichever bonehead thinks its a great idea to spend obscene amounts of money can be blamed here.

Personally, as a Sox fan, I love it. The Yankees can't win no matter how much talent they acquire. This further proves that heart matters more than talent, and you can't buy heart.

I cannot eat Taco Bell. Gives me nasty heartburn every time.

That's like a $20 carton of milk. Excellent!

Did you finish that? You're an animal if you did. My PB is 2 grilled stuffed burritos, 2 1/2lb beef and bean burritos, and a double decker taco. I miss the chili cheese burrito.

Dammit, I'm out of here!

I've had a continuous case of mild-to-horrible heartburn since about 2005, so it doesn't bother me.

And @ YAZMAN, one of the things I love most about myself is my ability to put away food like a bear going into hibernation. My metabolism has slowed somewhat the last few years but I still work it off pretty rapidly.

Mo going two vs. Boston is a recipe for failure.

On second thought, I rescind my offer! I don't think I can afford to feed you!:D

Just kidding. Wow. You have an apatite.

Girardi is the biggest gift a Red Sox fan could receive.

Meanwhile, in the NL West, the Dodgers have the best record in MLB, and Joe Torre receives nothing but praise from the media AND his players.

That 10 pitch Pedroia AB was undoubtebly the turning point of the game. I love that he was shouting to the bench as he was walking to first. You don't ever really see anyone pumped over a walk, but he was, and rightfully so.

YOTN still probably has me whipped, but my personal best of Bell food is 9 tacos, a mix between soft and crunchy.

8-0 vs the yanks = solid

Couldn't agree more. Girardi does not know how to handle pressure situations. Torre thrived under them; Girardi seems confused and uncertain. How telling is it that Girardi would rather have C.C. out there at 100+ pitches in the 8th than a fresh reliever? He should have pulled the plug when Pedroia walked, bring in Coke to face Drew, hope for a DP or a strike out. Coke has been pretty good this year and I think he deserved it.

Fun Fact: New York scored a total of 8 runs this week at Fenway and was 3-for-28 with RISP.

This series (along with the past 2 between these teams) exposed the Yankees for what they are: a very good team that has holes.

So, apparently I'm a douchebag. In the library this morning somebody's e-mail was open from yesterday, so I went on and sent a self e-mail saying:

Note to self: Maybe I shouldn't leave my e-mail open in the library for someone to look at Friday morning.

It was satisfying. Carry on.

"That's the kind of (expletive) that wins in the playoffs," said Red Sox starter Josh Beckett after watching his rotation-mate allow six hits while striking out five, walking one and throwing 117 pitches.

Unsung heroes of the night: Johnny Damon' date=' Nick Swisher, [b']Joe Girardi[/b].

Blasphemy.

Girardi has received all the praise he deserves.

In fact, i sent him an e-mail last night thanking him for s***ing the bed in every game against the Sox this season and encouraged him to keep implementing his pattern of FAIL against us.
