Meh. He is a notoriously slow starter

Maybe he'll give back the $260,909 that his 4.1 IP cost the team then? I'm sure he will.

Has there been a season where fans are more excited to see their team beat the Yankees? I mean, they've had some pretty unlikable teams in the past, but adding 400m worth of FAs really makes it fun to root against them.

As long as said challenge is smothered liberally in barbeque sauce or mint jelly.

Even the ladies... at least, that's what I've heard. He likes his ladies covered in BBQ sauce and slow roasted. Or old. Old enough that their skin falls right off the bone. <_ ewwww>

Well, Sabathia just couldn't control his fastball today, which was ultimately his downfall. You would have expected that 3-2 pitch to Scott with the bases loaded to have been a fastball, and I think it is very telling that it wasn't. The YES announcers were trying to play up some kind of injury based on him using a heating pad between innings, but I'm guessing it was more that he just pitched poorly. There doesn't need to always be an excuse.

Big home run there from Matsui puts them right back in the game. Good stuff.

So, this is your first time watching YES, right?

So is this the same Yankees pen that was supposedly as good as the Sox pen? Nobody ever questioned Rivera or even Bruney... it was the other clowns ....the clowns who just got taken deep by The immortal CESAR IZTURIS! What a power hitter...what a SLUGGER! HAHAH! Tex annd Yankees off to a WONDERFUL start.

CC and TEX...flop in debut... Next up..Burnett..

too bad this is regular season game and it was a homer anyway...

I was being sardonic in reference to them claiming interference when the ball was in the stands, as opposed to getting a cheap homer in an important game because some kid couldn't stay behind the line.

Well, the offense was playing well. Good to see Matsui and Posada back. CC didnt have it. And the pen was off too. Nobody seemed to have any type of control today. Baltimore pitchers included. It will improve

I seem to remember CC starting off poorly last year.

I'd love to see him dig them an early hole this year as he did for the Guardians last year.
