Just line it somewhere. Find a gap. No need for heroism here. Put the onus on Kaz.

You don't have Manny. There will be no heroism from Bay.

Manny is golfing.

So are the Red Sox tommorrow. Maybe they can all join Arod...tee time at 8 AM.

Gameday shows pitch #3 at the belt over the outside corner.

Daisue better get those pitches a heck of a lot further down.

Stop being a homer. Gameday has show 5 pitches to be strikes for Kazmir.

i am convinced we need a big big bat in the offseason.

Playing where? Our only big holes are two places where it's virtually impossible to add an elite bat -- SS and C.

So if we want to see a fair strikezone we are homers?

Yes. Thus saith the Gom.

Be nice to see Daisuke throw two consecutive strikes.

No, but if those pitches are balls for Kaz, they are balls for Dice. At least they should be.

If Kazmir could put his slider where Daisuke put that curve he'd be quite an unusual lefthander.

there might have been one questionable call in Kazmir's inning but it was to Pedroia who got out anyway.

Yeah, but the answer isn't going to come from the FA market. The only useful bat is Teixeira, and losing Lowell OUT of the lineup is going to dilute the advantages of putting Teixeira INTO it.

I think depending on Lowell is a mistake. I'm surprised you guys aren't really talking Tex. Dumping Lowell, moving Youk to 3rd would make your lineup amazing.

.799 OPS for Lowell this year, not exactly great. Teixiera would be a huge upgrade, though quite expensive. Where do we send Lowell?

I agree. The SS market has the same reruns with the only big name being Furcal, who is coming off an injury filled yr. AND, the sox have Lugo under contract who has zero trade value. I think you'll see Lugo and Lowrie split time.

The catching pool is even worse. IRod is the best C on the market and he's awful.

Dumping Lowell where how? We're kind of stuck with him -- and for the record, I don't have a problem with that. Lowell was never fast to begin with and his D is all about positioning and reflexes, so as long as he can actually run at a Frank Thomas level or better we should be fine.

I think Lugo will be a Detroit Tiger next year and when it comes to splitting time with Jed, he'd have to earn the privellege. Jed's better from the right side anyway so platooning with Cora makes more sense if he had to platoon anywhere.

My fantasy Lugo trade: To the Tigers with Daniel Bard and George Kottaras for Carlos Guillen. Fits the Tigers' needs, fits our needs.

Maybe you can eat his salary and send him to LA. :harhar:

Seriously, depending on old, brittle players in decline is what happened to our team. Sometimes you gotta cut bait before they become an issue. His speed is the issue. Not foot speed, bat speed. It's slowing.

Agreed, I see Lowrie getting the majority of the PT, unless Lugo proves he should start. As for catcher, I don't see Varitek returning, and I see his replacement either being within the organization or a Texas catcher. Not sure about who is available from other teams though.
