Info on Manny, Youk scuffle?

Anyone out there hear anything about this? I saw it happen but, not sure if it was asked about in the post game interviews.

Youkilis apparently Mannys' mother a hamster, and implied that his father smelled of elderberries, and when Manny inquired as to what an elderberry was, Youk asserted that he would taunt him a second time if he didn't go away.

 

It was really fine until Youk took it upon himself to fart in Mannys' general direction.

I've heard nothing but posted elsewhere that perhaps (purely speculation) Youk rode him about the tweaked hammy or something. Youk is a competitor and I think he expects everyone else to approach the game the same way. Again, simply a theory, who knows.

It all started when Manny insisted on pulling the pin. Youk was OK with it and gave him these instructions: "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

 

Manny, being Manny, pulled the pin and counted "one, two, five...

 

...and it was all downhill from there.

I read a rumor this morning that said Youk chastised Manny for not getting more involved in the Coco fracas. Imagine that Youk challenging Manny's aggressiveness. Everyone knows Manny is a lover not a fighter!

I heard two different stories, not sure which is the one:

 

Story one has it that Youk ate the last snack pack pudding out of the dugout cooler after Manny had "called it".

 

The other story had something to do with Youk's chocolate in Manny's peanut butter. :dunno:

 

Either way, it was all about the snacks.

then something happened that had to be related to the brawl...

ive had it said to me in a club i ran as i wasnt leaving the cash register to break up 2 sissies,ive said it to friends who disappeared in a battle and took umbrage to their no show.

Apparently, even though I do like the idea of pudding-gate, the entire team has grown pretty tired of Youk always throwing bats and helmets etc. after an AB. In a game when you fail 7 times out of 10 in a successful major league season, there really isn't room for that crap so I can't say I don't see it as selfish macho-crap... cause... I do. I've always wondered why Youk behaved that way when the team is winning, I can see it when we lose for prolonged stretches and what not, but why when we are in first place? Meh.

 

Either way, I guess Manny takes particular exception.

Yeah, I do. Or at least, I'm willing to acknowledge that the media portrayal of Manny as this good natured easy going (read: stoner-esque joker) dude, might not be as true to life as we might all sometimes think. He is an athlete, who lives in that clubhouse as a second home with 25 other dudes for 6 solid months. Everyone lets stuff get under their skin, even Manny, and I think everyone has their boiling point.

According to three sources, Manny had raised objections to Youkilis throwing equipment around in the dugout after flying deep to center in the fourth inning, and advised him to "cut that (expletive) out. Youkilis apparently didn't take kindly to the remark, said something, and Manny swiped at him.

 

About time Youk got called out for his histrionics.

Youkilis is a scary dude. He seems to have a bad temper. According to Youkilis himself, he has had these kind of "conversations" with other team mates.

Laid back is one thing. Tearing s*** up when you strike out and your team is winning 8-1 is another.

 

Youkilis is bush. Always is, always will be. Give me someone like Manny, who knows when to celebrate, and when not to. You don't see Tek getting pissed off he struck out when the Sox are winning, or from Jeter. Maybe that's why their captains, and Youk gets bitch-slapped by Manny.
