My wife just got home from work at the hospital. For some reason she thinks this a great time to tell me about her day. How do I avoid coming off like a dick when I ask her to shutty?
I had a similar issue in game 6 of the ALCS. I was going to bed after game 5 and was planning my weekend in my head. I asked my wife if we were going to dinner with our friends on Friday. She told me that would be Saturday. I told her that I had mentioned that games 6 and 7 would be Saturday and Sunday. Then she said "well, can't you miss one game?" My head was about to explode. I reminded her that I was in Ft. Myers for the first Spring Training game and had watched almost every inning of every regular season game including two trips to Baltimoe and two weekend trips to Boston. I told her that she'd have to cancel. Well, it wasn't a pleasant experience. A female friend explained to me that the seemingly innocent episodes like talking during a clinching game etc. is the way some women express their subconscious thoughts that baseball should not have such importance to us. Their gender has issues, and you are in a no-win situation.

She doesn't know you well enough by now? I divorced my ex-husband because he threw a fit when I wanted to watch the MFY's lose to the Marlins. That's partially true but it was typical. It's not necessarily a stereotypical man law type of issue

It's nothing drastic. We are at the point where I can grunt every 30 seconds while I'm watching sports if she's talking to me. But in a game 4 up 3-0, I was getting annoyed just acting like I was listening.

POW!!

Mike's postseason assured he's coming back.

Gagne?

He did do a great job getting everyones' licenses renewed and so far, he's done a great job on the beer run tonight. Yeah, he deserves it too.
