Athletics designated outfielder Milton Bradley for assignment.

Bradley had to have done something to really upset management and/or his teammates. Sure, the club was at least a little frustrated about his frequent injuries, but he was playing pretty well when he was able to take the field, batting .292/.373/.446 in 65 at-bats. Maybe the A's will be able to trade him for some relief help, though he'll have little value left now that the team has to move him. The Padres, Cardinals, Marlins, White Sox, Astros, Rangers, Braves, Yankees, Orioles and Mets are some of the possible contenders that could use him, and since he's making just $4 million and is a free agent at season's end, it wouldn't be a huge risk to bring him in.

little surprised at that. He's been hitting pretty well and like usual has a good OBP. I could see the Padres making a move for him.

...if only because Paul DePodesta is working for the Padres now.

With Damon almost definitely headed to the DL, I wouldnt be surprised if the Yankees pick him up. When your bench consists of Andy Phillips, Miguel Cairo, and the kids from "The Sandlot" theres no reason not to pick up an extra outfielder.

Thay could trade Kei Igawa for him and have the Yankees pay for 20 milion of his contract...:D

The Athletics taking Kei Igawa? Excuse me, but Billy Beane knows pitching talent, and Kei Igawa is NOT that.

The good thing is that tomorrow it's almost an assured Giants win as Cain goes up against Igawa.

EDIT: I think the smiley meant sarcasm, but I couldn't tell for sure. My apologies if this is the case :D

I guess I'm just used to the crassness (is that a word) that you might find in the Yankee section of this board.

I guess a trade to the Red Sox isn't in order...

My God, I hope not. If there ever was a cancer on a baseball team it is Milton Bradley. Stay as far away from him as possible. Theo cannot be that dumb.

Some kind?

6/1/04: Bradley gets ejected in a game against the Brewers. He goes apeshit and throws a bag of balls onto the field.

9/28/04: An idiot throws a bottle at Bradley and then he throws it back. He argues with the umpire and after his ejection, he then takes his jersey and cap off.

What an *******.

Love the ball and bat toss. Bottle incident was funny also. The guy ran like a little wuss.

MB is pretty much a younger version of Carl Everett. Decent baseball skills, horrible attitude, and if it wasn't for baseball, both would be dealing on the corner(no, not cause there black). Because there both morons. Remember when Carl used to bat with a tooth pick in his mouth? Who the hell does this!:D He was such a tool. Everytime I saw him all I could think of was him saying in his mind " I'm Carl Mother F'n Everett, Im a bad MFer."

i said padres from the beginning

No offense, but it doesn't take a genius to guess that one.

Padres, like the Mets and Red Sox, looooove former Dodgers.
