I bet Pedroia goes up to Papi tonight and says "I saved your ass tonight but don't pull that s*** again."

I don't want Pedroia to strain his neck.

Pedroia is pretty amazing if I say so myself. I really like this Drew leading off thing for now. I really think with Drew, Pedroia, Ortiz, Ramirez, and Youk is a pretty formidable 1-5. If Manny can start getting his power back our lineup should be O.K.

Christ' date=' Pedroia is hitting .327. Pretty good nearly half way through the season, wouldn't people agree??? Especially those of you who raked Theo and the front office over the coals for letting LORETTA go?[/quote']

Make that .331 :D

Explain, I didn't catch most of this game.

He argued strike 3 in the first inning of a tie game. He went back to the dugout and slammed his helmet and bat on the dirt before walking down the dugout stairs. The ump was a bit trigger happy though and was looking to toss him, so he did. But there was no excuse for Ortiz to be arguing that in the first inning when we desperately need him in the lineup, especially right now.

And, I love that dirty water. Lead back to 8.5. Sleep well tonight, RSN.

Yess Sox win, 42-24. Back to 18 games above .500

Lead is back to 8.5 games

Tavarez continues to make a name for himself in this good rotation. 2 runs in 7 innings

The offense... err I mean Drew & Pedroia ;) got things going right away in this one. The Sox were due for a game like this after averaging 2.5 runs over the last 7 games. The top 2 of the order was 8 for 9 with 2 Doubles, HR, 8 RBIs

Barry who? Good to see him not have any impact in this one. Onto tomorrow featuring a good matchup of Matsuzaka vs Cain, Im optimistic about it but I have a feeling Bonds will hit one out off of Dice

Fun game to be at tonight. Roberts got an immense ovation, great to see him back. Bonds was booed as loud as Roberts was cheered. That was an absolute bomb he hit foul in the first. Tavarez and Pedroia both had awesome games. Pedroia definitely had the game of his life. Zito didn't have his good stuff, and Tavarez brought his best. It's good to see the standings go the other way for a change. I have many pictures but I'm too lazy to post em tonight. Probably tomorrow.

Today I wore by Navy blue Big Papi shirt thinking it might give us some luck, then David gets run out of the game in the first inning. Stupid move on his part. We need his bat the way we've hit lately. That cannot happen again; he has to cool it. I wonder where all those anti-Pedroia fans have gone? I think most of them have converted. The guy has performed well everywhere he's played, high school, Arizona State, the minors. Now all I want to to remind Francona that I don't want to see any more of his stupid match-ups keeping Pedroia on the pine. He plays all the time unless he need's a day's rest.

Taverez has come through for us lately, hasn't he? Hopefully, this gets us going again, but it would be great if someone besides Drew and Pedroia got hits. Oh, yes, Coco got a solid hit in the eighth, and Lugo got on base twice.

Don't get any ideas Tito if you're perusing this site. Lugo and Crisp stay right where they are.

I learned something very valuable tonight. If I ever get a blister, I just have to mix aspirin with red bull to make it heal faster.

Ps, apparently one of the guys I was with was on TV in the first inning, holding up a hand drawn sketch of Bonds with the heading "steroids" and two tiny baseballs labeled "small balls". Did anyone happen to see that?

I might be on SportsDesk tonight. Soon they're showing a segment with fan's takes on Bonds. I wasn't interviewed but the people next to me, both left and right were. It's the 3 people (in their 20's?), one with both Giants and Red Sox gear, holding a sign; then a father and son.

EDIT: The first guy they interviewed was the dude I was next to. I wasn't on it though.

2EDIT: f***. The father and son came on next.

You're picky.

He was 1-3 with a BB.

s***, I would have loved to have seen that. Had to be a real hoot for the fans. I remember Bonds calling Boston a racist town so I would have thought the fans could get on him for more than just being a cheater.

Did Roberts get a good reception, though? I hope he did. That memory of his stealing that base in the ninth inning of the 4th game of the 2004 will stay with me until I leave the Earth.

From the t.v. it seemed he got the hero's welcome he deserved. It wasn't just The Steal. The thing about Roberts that I remember from that whole season is that he took his role w/ a lot grace. Unlike a certain SS (and Jay Payton) who shall remain nameless and who people remember w/ revisionist history. He just got it. Ya get it or ya don't. Lot's of class.

Of course, I needed a heart and liver transplant (emphasis on the liver transplant) after that series...but the memories are priceless. Except, of course. for the million dollar liver transplant.

Robert's patience and professionalism has paid off for him. He's not a very good every day starting OF, but his professionalism and positive attitude help his marketability to teams. Teams know that they are not getting a problem with Dave Roberts. Payton, on the other hand, is an *******. If he'd had some patience in 2005, he have gotten around 400+ ABs, because of the injuries to Nixon, and after Damon left, he'd have gotten the starting CF job by default. He might still be our CF today if he had the right attitude.
