Yes but hes better then Matthews JR' date=' Peirre. JD is towards the bottom of 1st tier OF, But Matthews and Peirre are second tier guys. You have to pay 1st tier guys more then 2nd tier guys. Such is life and thats how the buisness works.[/quote']

Matthews > Drew, and at the moment Pierre > Drew. That's what is so sad about it.

Drew is a tough case. His career numbers are good, its just that he is sooo prone to injuries and his motivation is constantly questioned. I just think that the signing was a bit to risky. High risk, medium reward.

& Dodger fans tried to tell you what he was all about. Tell me, how is it working out for you guys right now? Good thing you guy are still in 1st place.

Dodger fans can't expect to be taken seriously after the s*** they attempted to pull here. And sneaky with the edit, I was going to let you know that its working out all right because we're still 10.5 up.

So being in first place is the only thing keeping you guys from being pissed off. I always thought Sox fans had more passion for their team then any other group of fans? Sox fans rode Ted Williams to the point that he would not tip his hat, and you guys are giving David Johnny Cakes Drew a free pass because they are in 1st place?

Ohh, and why is it JD Drew and not DJ Drew?

We aren't giving him a pass. But because the team is winning, it's giving Drew an opportunity to keep playing and try to break out of this slump without the fans getting all over him.

When do you stop calling it a sump, and start refering to him as a bust? The POS is getting a free pass and it seems like Sox fans show him more respect then Ted Williams. Ted Willams served for our country during his prime, and help launch John Wayne as an American Icon, and Sox fans killed him.

I'll stop calling it a slump if he rolls this later into the seaosn without showing any signs of the hitter we thought he'd be. Beckett made the hanley trade look very lopsided last year for FLA but this year he and Lowell have re-grouped and are starting to at least even it out. I don't know why you are all coming here and starting these topics, it really isn't relevant sicne we're doing so well.

And what the hell are you talking about with Ted Williams?

Yaz' date=' you need to calm down. They will take this as a personal attack and ban you.[/quote']

I'm totally calm.

I had been against the Drew signing from the start, and it's kind of interesting to see people do an about-face when they see how bad he really is.

Now I understand why you all cheered when he opted out.

Weren't you one of the ones in favor of the signing?

Lots of hypocrites here.

Actually, I was one of the few posters who wanted to re-sign Nixona and platoon him with WMP.

Beckett was an all-star before you got him so it would make sense for him to return to form. Lowell, before he was injured was a stud for the Marlins as well. The JD Drew you are seeing right now is JD Drew. If a player with 9 years of experience and only had one good year would you really expect him to measure up to that one year?

Boston fans killed Williams when he first showed up. They never gave him a chance to turn it around.

Other than the total idiots of this board, I haven't seen this movement of about-faces your talking about. I still stand by Drew's signing and let's not forget he and Lugo sitll have time to turn it around. Alos, just wondering, where were all you Dodger fans in April when he was raking?

Did you say Drew was raking? Please enlighten me on this occurence.

Because ya know, J.D. Drew does not have a career average of .283 and did not get 6 MVP votes in 2004. I don't understand this vendetta you LA fans ahve against either us or him, but it doesn't even make sense. Also, though 2004 was his best year, it was not his only good year.

As for Williams, hats off to him for sticking through it, if what you're saying is true, I'm sure he's not the only player to do so. And he ahs the luxury of us ahving the best record in abseball despite him, if we were in 2nd, he would be hearing the boo birds.

As of Apriil 23rd he had a .350 average to go along with a great .437 OBP and .937 OPS. I'm not a baseball genius, but taht ain't too shabby.

Isn't that like one week into the season? Where one hit brings your average up 200 points? Get real.

no thats 3 weeks and no 1 hit dosent raise you BA by 200 points (unless your 1 for 4 and get a hit to go 2 for 5 )

It's actually 3 weeks. I guess math is a soft spot out west.

Come on, guy, you Dodger fans warned us about his streakiness. He hit about .350 for 6 weeks (.342 in ST), and he's gone cold since. Another hot streak like he had early and he's back to normal.

You're reading my mind.

drew came outta the box very strong

he was also the #1 pick in the draft for a reason

hes got it all

from time to time when he feels the urge

we got him for ever

3 months ago i said i would stop the whining about him and give him unconditional support

and i still bang my head against the stone pillars when i see him in our uniform

i'll be ok as long as theyre playing .650

its days like this when you need him to do something and you get nothing is when the burning in the belly starts and the rolaid supper aint cutting it

A wins a win though. Hopefully when they need a clutch hit he comes up and gives us an advantage.

Its clear the guy is talented, just hit the f***in ball. When he swings lately, he seems indecisive. He has all the talent in the world, stop holding back and swing the way you did earlier this year when everything seemed so effortless.
