It drives me crazy when we make a kid who will be forgotten in 3 weeks look like a Cy Young candidate. The rest of the league will beat is brains out.

he has some serious stuff though. Guthrie was throwing high 90s with a very solid curveball. He may be a shitbum overall, but if his stuff is working, he'll be tough. It is working today.

I had a nasty suspicion something like this might happen. Didn't someone of this board say some weeks ago that the Red Sox always seem to have trouble with pitchers they haven't seen before. I never heard of this Guthrie kid before so I take it he is new to the Red Sox batters. What I hope is that Beckett is not going to miss significant time. We already have one black hole in our rotation; we certainly don't need another

Ugh. Guthrie has allowed 3 hits in 6 innings. This is s***.

 

Kind of wished we had saved five or six runs from yesterday's feast for today's apparent famine. Of course with Piniero still pitching it might get worse before it gets better. And how much longer do we have to stomach Coco Crisp?

Ths game is not over yet. Down 5 isn't a good place to be, no doubt, but this offense can score. It would be nice to pick up Beckett if possible.

 

Why in the name of god would you try to throw that ball Romero?

Making that throw is something a high school kid would do. For a major leaguer to make such a stupid no-percentage throw is baffling.

They didn't seem to lose focus against weak teams as in the past few years... until today. They played like they wanted to be somewhere else. At this point, so do I.:thumbdown

Why the hell would they change pitchers? 1 out in the 9th and your IF drops an easy pop-up?

Right when Beckett left I thought right away of the game where Clement was hit by a pitch. Just how the team rallied to get a W. Ive got adrenaline pumping through so much I keep making typos haha

 

Really hope Beckett is ok
