Uh...wow. Just wow. Sam Perlozzo looks like quite the douce for pulling Guthrie. He woulda finished the job too.

Sox win 6-5, take the series, improve the record to 25-11. Let's hope Beckett is okay.

He's just taking a page from John Gibbons pulling Haladay too early :)

Very funny my friend was saying to me earlier today that there hasnt been a walkoff win yet

EDIT: I thought I just heard on NESN, Tom Caron saying something about the DL :(

This team is just so balanced from top to bottom.

Everyone in the lineup is either an OBP player or has some speed. They are all mature and polished hitters.

Lugo just said on RKO that Beckett's blister was "bad".:(

amazing win though.

I'm pretty sure there's a flap of skin hanging off his fingertip. I think 'blister' is putting it lightly.

Right when Beckett left I thought right away of the game where Clement was hit by a pitch. Just how the team rallied to get a W. Ive got adrenaline pumping through so much I keep making typos haha

Really hope Beckett is ok

Let's hope that is the only comparison to that game.

What a f***ing win! You could feel it building.

You. Can't. Give. Them. Chances!

I have to leave the house and go for a walk because I am higher than a kite. I think I will explode if I don't get out the door. What a freakin' win. I still cannot believe what I just saw. Please tell me this is not a dream Ex; it is still hard to believe.

I just hope Beckett is ok, though. We cannot afford to miss him for any length of time since we already have one black hole in the rotation. How about an end to those shitpole bullpen sessions by Lester and get him into the rotation. He should be ready by now.

Tito said on his post game press conference that it was cut skin, not a blister which is supposedly better. Tito thought Beckett might be able to make his next start.

What a frigging win! These are games that you aren't suppose to win in the MLB. That was so crazy, I have never really seen anything like that. 25-11, and the mojo lives!

I hope so. I got $30 on each game vs the Braves.

You know it fred. We've seen these types of wins pretty consistently from them in the past few years. I told my wife in the 4th inning that this felt like a 'walk off' game. I wasn't right, but it did feel like one of those where, if the flood gates were opened, the Sox would have a good chance.

this was a classic fenway game. The fans certainly came alive when the Sox showed even the slightest amount of life. They were patient at the plate and took advantage of that selectivity, especially Varitek who ripped that single when Ray had lost the zone and had to pump one over early in the count (1-0 I believe). You knew that would be essentially a 2-0 or 3-1 pitch: heater that gets lots of the plate.

So they have come back from 5 in the 9th against the Yankees, and 6 in the 9th against the Orioles at this point. that's pretty remarkable.

Well, it was four and it was the 8th against the Yankees lol. Carry on.

EDIT: Obviously the point remains the same.

You know what I love? The fans carried on at the game, it was packed thoughout

I just saw a replay of the Nationals walkoff grand slam last night... what happened because it was like 15 people in a rather large stadium

It was last-ups (8th inning) and 5 runs. lol. There, we finally got it.

Unreal. I was listening to the game in my car on the way back from the Pawsox game when they came back and won. Amazing, just amazing. I just love this team. They are developing such a great come-from-behind chemistry.

I left the house and heard the 9th inning on the radio. I have a couple of observations.

First, the Red Sox radio announcers were in disbelief that Per"Dumbo" took Guthrie after an error, 91 pitches, and one out in the 9th. I couldn't believe it either. They hadn't touched him. I though that Per"Dumbo" could really regret that move.

Second, I was sure that Cora was going to win the game for us. I understand that many thought Youk was safe at the plate.

Third, after the 3-2 pitch to Lugo, I was so nervous that i changed the station to the Yankee station. At that moment John "the Shill" Sterling was saying that the Red Sox had scored 4 in the bottom of the 9th had the bases loaded with Lugo up and a 3-2 count. I found it amazing that he was up to the second on the Red Sox game and basically announced it in a play by play fashion. I thought the Yankees don't scoreboard watch? I guess their announcers do. lol!!

Finally, Cora remains undefeared... right? I'm loving this stupid guy.

A truly Happy Mothers day!

ONE MORE TIME FOR BOSTON!!

i hope Beckett wont revert back to his old ways (throwing fastballs all the time) after today.

That is also a concern of mine. Let's hope this goes away.

that's wonderful analysis by Phillips then, I guess that's why they pay him the big bucks

as far as Beckett goes, I would find it hard to believe that he'll be back on the mound unless he and the team are confident in throwing his curveball without damaging his finger. but im sure he'll throw a few side sessions to make sure he has that command
