I'm speechless. Like, I don't know what to say. I am without speech. I have NOTHING to speak of.

I'm going to play Guitar Hero to calm myself down. What a lovely Friday afternoon...

Yes, as a Red Sox fan, my day being good or bad can come down to the Red Sox winning or losing.

And God help us...Tavarez tomorrow. Our offense needs to wake the f*** up.

Hopefully things will turn around within the next 4 days, which includes Opening Day at Fenway...

you said it, I was in a miserable mood after Opening Day on monday and tuesday... now I gotta go to work tonight after this terrible game...

(maybe this will brighten up your day... haha)

did anyone hear how Tavarez keeps warm?

On NESN they said that Tavarez told them that he puts baby oil and Ben Gay on his body and then drinks a cup of black coffee and he's all set... hahaha that's just funny... I guess that's what Tavarez use to do when he would pitch in the cold...

Sox had chance to do a Delcarmen, Lowell, Tavarez trade for Helton... but Theo held back because of the young "talent" in Delcarmen. Colorado called the talks dead once Theo wouldnt comply.

Wakefield crusing through 11 batters, here comes a win! Oh wait no these are the Sox's off days for offense

EDIT: Yep haha Drew makes a 1st pitch out on Tejada in the 7th, 68 pitches

If this young season gets away from us Theo is going to catch s*** by the boatload for not making that trade. It is now very evident that until David and Manny get hot and hopefully Drew keeps hitting for us, we are going to need some offense. Of course when Tim pitches were are weaker because Mirabelli has to catch and that means three or four outs in a row, not that Varitek has been a ball of fire for us of late. I just wonder if Theo lost his brain for a moment when he wouldn't include Delcarmen in that deal. As it is Manny is in the minors where he belongs and will most likely never be much of a pitcher for us since he has regressed badly. Think of what Helton could have meant to this lineup.

Schill, in reference to your second sentence, if you have a DVD of the Red Sox winning something, shove it in to your tv. It will make you feel better.

Your third sentence? Priceless!!!!! Unfortunately, that exactly the way it is for me and I feel like crap right about now. I'm hoping the Dodgers can take care of the Giants tonight so I can have a little consolation from this day but I will still feel bummed out tomorrow morning. The Red Sox just wear you out, don't they?

What a horrible game. We have a pathetic offense right now' date=' and it starts with Ortiz not hitting right now.[/quote']

If your offense hinges on one player getting it going, then it will be a long yr.

My thoughts.

I actually saw the first half of a game in a bar, the second half on the radio.

Offense: Needs to work pitchers better. 77 pitches in 7 innings from a guy who had trouble locating? Are you f***ing serious? Too many first pitch swings, too little count working = no offense at all. This is 2 games in a row and 3 of the first 4 that the starting pitcher lasted 7 or more innings. And this against the pitching juggernauts of Kansas City and Texas. Ummm, not really. When the offense isnt working against a particular pitcher, you grind them until they are over their pitch limit and get them replaced. The sox were terrible at that today.

Pitching: Wakefield had the knuckler dancing, but as always, he was a few feet from being blown out. Blalock hit 2 and Kinsler 1 which were 4 feet foul or less which would have been taters. Such is the life of the knuckler and nothing will ever change that. Okajima is pitching rather well, although his day was made much easier by Laird running in the baseline.

Overall, the sox offense has been totally awful thus far. Papi and Manny will hit, but what will the rest do? Its early, so I think the offense puts it all together, but at the very least they need to make the other pitcher earn it and today, they did not. Tavarez tomorrow in the swing seat could keep the sox vaunted rotation under .500 one turn in.

This offense also scored 11 runs the last 2 games before today so call me as one who's not "Chicken Little" and starting to fret about chances for October. Remind me again when theyre not just 4 games into the season

About Millwood, looking at the matchups, just about every Sox batter has had good success against Millwood. I look forward to what they can bring to the table tomorrow night

rather where was he to pinch hit for mirabelli with coco on 2nd and 2 outs in the 7th inning

either way its rediculous to have a guy like that and not play him or PH him when their is an oppurtunity to do so, its a complete waste. not only that but like jackson is saying they arent working counts like they all should be doing, i know its early but is there any possibility at all its the new hitting coach that may have altered the philosophy?

Very tough loss to swallow but it is still only the forth game of the year by no means should we be panicing about it. The Sox have tons of games left in the year.

Seriously, if I was Wakfield, I would have beaten half of this team to within an inch of their lives a long time ago. Every f***ing time he pitches badly, they score a ton of runs, but not enough. When he turns in a great start, they dont do s***.

I think it was Riverside who suggested that the Red Sox players did not like Wakefield, and were intentionally losing games to make Wakefield look bad.

Riverside, then proceeded to get a hard-on when he saw Dustin Pedroia bunt, because it reminded him of David Eckstein.

Nomar wants to come back :)

I saw a crazy stat somewhere a while back that said that Nomar bats like .390 when swinging at the first pitch. If this team can hit 3/4 of that, I'm in favor of them forgetting to work counts all the time.

So what time is the game today? Redsox.com says 8:05 but my Extra Innings package says *2:05 (Time Change). Also read the weather in TX is supposed to be bad tonight. So do we have a day game today????

Yeah but nobody on our team is as good of a pure hitter as Nomar was in his prime, and its not even close.

Jackson... Id rather have a cold offense to start the season, than bad pitching to start the season off. The Red Sox true have made 4 errors but only one of those have been allowed to come around & score. Its not like everyone up & down is tanking. Theyre still playing in like 35-50 degree weather, as it gets warmer so will this lineup's
