Long story short, you're all a bunch of faggots.

April can't come soon enough so actual baseball can be talked about around here.

Who's "you're"?

If you're lumping me with all the DB guys, you're sadly mistaken.

He's referring to all the people that are saying Lugo/Drew will suck/be amazing because it's pointless. I'm with him...I can't wait until this all plays out on the field and we have actual baseball to analyze.

Not just DB. 95% of the posting contingent here.

Bingo' date=' I also like his career .330 batting avg at Fenway Park.[/quote']Here's the problem with that: he won't be facing the Red Sox' bullpen ;) .

Clap Clap Clap What a Comeback. By the way thanks, I didnt realize that lineups have to face bullpens for the entire game for each game of the season

Julio Lugo in 39 games at the Rogers Centre has a career .376 avg, excuse for that perhaps?...

I don't know you seem to know quite a lot about their forum, if you think we're fools we're not, you'll get filtered out soon enough. Also on the Dodgers making the playoffs last year, you must remember thats in a total s*** division (NL West) in a s*** league (The National). Yes, it's a real accomplishment making the playoffs having to play Arizona, Colorado, Pirates, The Nats, Marlins, and last year's Braves multiple times. If we were placed in any NL division we'd own.

Luck.

Luck? In 39 games? Over his whole career of playing against the Blue Jays (who've always had great bullpens, decent starting) has had plain luck of batting .376 there?

Ok fine here's a bet. I bet you that in Lugo's 1st month with the Red Sox, he'll be batting .270 or better. Winner picks what avatar the loser has to have for a week.

First of all, other than Arizona the teams you mentioned are not in the NL West. That's like me saying Boston gets to play against Seattle, Kansas City, and Cleveland multiple times.

Second, The D-Backs, Marlins, and Braves are not bad teams. They were in the playoff hunt until the final week last year. But since you don't know s*** about the NL, can I blame you for f***ing that up?

Third, with a payroll like the Sox have, they SHOULD own the NL divisions. $52 million just to talk with DiceGay?

Four, how many games do the Sox play against the Devil Rays and Orioles each year?

The homerism on this board is sickening at times.

No problem. Ill take that bet.

I have a photo of Schilling f***ing a goat. It'll look good under your username.

Colorado is in the West too.

The DBacks, Marlins, and Braves were all in the hunt because .500 was good enough to be in the playoff race. Not so in the AL.

I was making the point of the whole NL being weak, and that the NL West is the weakest division in the weaker league.

None of them had above 80 wins last year and even your mother was in the wild card hunt last year for the NL.

Third, with a payroll like the Sox have, they SHOULD own the NL divisions. $52 million just to talk with DiceGay?

He's got more talent than any pitcher on your team.

Four, how many games do the Sox play against the Devil Rays and Orioles each year?

The Devil rays are a pain in the ass, as are the O's. However both teams would have a shot at winning your division. Devil Rays > DBacks, Orioles > Giants (of last year)

The homerism on this board is sickening at times.

Your lack of knowledge is sickening

Dice Gay?

Im just love the intellect of Dodger fans? Only you guys and select immature Yankee fans will stoop to the low level that is making "middle school"ish nicknames of our players. Yea this kid we got is only projected to have 15 or more wins, 175+ Ks, with a 3.75 ERA or lower and thats just in his first season in the tough hitting AL East

Everyone knows the NL Central is the weakest. Pirates, Reds, Cubs... horrible.

I beg to differ. LA's rotation is head and shoulders above the Red Sox rotation. Let's wait until after the season to see how good DiceGay actually is. I think he'd be a good #3 pitcher, not worth the millions Boston paid for him.

Uh, the D'Rays had the worst record in baseball last year. Arizona would kill them in a series.

Orioles/Giants. I hate both of them. Big deal.

Your lack of knowledge is sickening

I don't want to sound like seabeachfred, but I'm certain I know about baseball than you. Take off your red-colored homer glasses next time you want to discuss MLB.

So, making up a name like Dice-K isn't middle school-ish? Dice-Gay is just as bad, I admit, but it's not like Sox fans don't do the same thing.

And WHO has given those projections? Epstein? Don't you think it's premature to project stuff like that?

Posted

Actually, Dice-K is pronounced the same way as Daisuke. It's not really a nickname.

I will say though, I would love to have a couple pitchers in the Sox rotation that are in that of the Dodgers. Penny/Schmidt anyone? Yes, please.

Thanks schilloutthe K's for pointing that out quickly, Daisuke is pronounced... Dice-K, its not his nickname tho the spelling has been American-ized. Ok now middle school-ish nicknames are like Dice-Gay, Big Poopi, Papelboner

http://www.rotoauthority.com/2006/12/daisuke_matsuza.html

Roto Authority does projections on just about every player during the offseason. Last time I checked, projections arent un heard of. Bill James the stat guru makes a living of doing that in his books released each offseason.

By the way, LA's rotation would not last in the AL East the way Boston's is poised to do. I make that opinion because the AL East is the division with the most top-heavy lineups in baseball

Hah a Dodger fan complaing about homerism... yea see this forum is 99 % taken up by die-hard Sox fans, expect Sox love 24/7

Now who's camping out in homer central?

Schmidt is better than Schilling, but that's where the advantage dies. Matsuzaka will be better than Lowe. Beckett and Penny both throw smoke, but little else. They are about the same. Papelbon is better than Billingsley, but only by a little. Wakefield is better than Wolf.

Head and shoulders above? Sure, with a step ladder.

Serious question, you guys really think Drew will stay off the DL, and go all out in the field? I think Barbaro has a better chance of running in the Breaders Cup then Drew playing a full season. Drew played in 146 games last year, but he only started 131 games. Are you guys willing to give him a pass to miss one month of the season for 14 million to watch him jog to flyballs, and protect his shoulder?

I don't know what he'll do. If he doesn't play as much as he's supposed to, he'll have s*** thrown at him from the stands. If he plays like we all know he can and does so on a consistent basis, it'll be a great signing. Either way, we look at it as an upgrade because he's better than Trot Nixon. Even if he goes on the DL, he'll be better than what we got out of Trot Nixon. Nixon went on the DL just as much in the past. We like the signing because either way you look at it, we have an upgrade in RF.
