That lineup is really nice that 3,4,5 is really dangerous. I can't wait until April when the Bosox come into Toronto so I can go see that lineup in action. Baseball season can't some soon enough.

pedrioa sucks???? do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Hinske/Youk at 1B/2B? Brilliant. Might be the worst defensive right half of an IF ever.

You've got that right, Youkilis needs to be at first because you know Lugo is going to be throwing some right at the seats.

Welcome to the site. What the hell are you talking about?

Pedroia sucks? How many at-bats has he had? how many have you watched? Youkilis at 2B? They should just put another pole there and hope that other teams hit it off the pole and it bounces to Hinske at 1B. :D

You go out of your way to add Hinske to the lineup, but you manage to leave a guy with 30 HR power like Pena on teh bench??? If I'm putting one random bench player on the field its Pena, and I'm putting him at 1B or putting Ortiz at 1B. Hinske is nothing to write home about.

Not only don't I want to see Hinske in the starting lineup, I am hoping he is not even on the bench.

Well I certainly don't want to see Hinske in the starting lineup but he is one of the better bench players available. He is a perfect bench player IMO.

Youk can play many positions, but second base is not one of them. Obviously you are a shallow baseball fan right now. Hinske is an extra player right now and is being shopped to see what his value is. Pedroia is an almost no doubt high end major leaguer.

SS Lugo

1B Youk/or Pedroia later

DH Ortiz

LF Manny

RF Drew

3B Lowell/Youk would be good here too

C Varitek

2B Pedroia

CF Crisp

i agree. I dont know why so many people hate this guy. He's one of the better bats to have on the bench. Plus, who else is available to take his spot?

I think he is a loretta clone.

If he turns out to be a Loretta clone, I'll be happy with that. Solid ball player, gives you consistency every day. No problem with that at all:D

I agree. No problem with that out of your 2b. Not enough power to be a Marcus Giles. Not enough range to be an Adam Kennedy. But with the OBP and the contact, he could be a less powerful (trust me, Loretta did have a mild amount of power at one point in his career) version of Mark Loretta.

In all fairness, Pedroia looks better at least statistically than Loretta.

At 23, Loretta's final full season in the minors he hit .286/.333/.397 (in AAA)

Pedroia in 2006 at 22 years old .305/.378/.426 (also in AAA).

Loretta's only other full season in the minors showed an OPS around .700.

Pedroia's OPS has been consistenly higher, even when he struggled after being promoted to AAA in 2005 he still had an OPS of .738.

Pedroia's no Giles, who was in the mid-upper .800s in OPS at a similar age and development, but he's better than Loretta at least at this stage of his career.
