half an hour too late Jacksonian. Fitting though, as there haven't been any substantial rumors for a long time on this one.

I'm betting its not going to happen.

putz/soriano, sexson and jones/betancourt, would be interesting, idk if SEA would do it though

then sign Drew and trade Lowell

leaves us with:

1. Youkilis 3B

2. Crisp CF

3. Ortiz DH

4. Sexson 1B

5. Drew RF

6. Pena LF

7. Varitek C

8. Jones SS

9. Pedroia 2B

Bullpen of

CL Putz

Set-up ?

MR Okajima

MR Timlin

MR Delcarmen

MR Tavarez

Sexson would have to be in any trade with Seattle for Manny. Absolutely. He gives us the tremendous righthanded power we would need, and Drew could give us a 300 hitter hitting in front of Papi. This could work, but who the hell is this Jones kid? Never heard of him. Anyone know anything about him?

Toby Hall as the main piece in a Manny trade

there better be more

You guys are clueless.

Broxton is a 21-year-old beast. He'd be the main piece no question. Ever wonder why the Dodgers only gave a 1-year contract to their star closer Saito? 'Cause Broxton is locked in that spot for the next decade.

While i agree kemp may be better in the long run' date=' id rank broxton higher solely because he is much more important to the team as a closer. [b']My favorite package would be kemp, broxton, loney or laroche[/b] (i dont know enough to judge here, although loney has been highly touted defensively, i heard a GM/manager say that hes the best defensive 1B in the NL)

You sure you don't want Billingsley, Elbert, Martin, and Either while you're at it? Jesus, no wonder the Dodgers are backing away from the Manny discussions.

Power relievers are the fastest to gain notoriety and the fastest to lose it. One bad pitch, one clutch bomb and their career goes in the shitter. If you have a power reliever and can get something that is much better than what he is worth, you do it. Too much risk in keeping a hot piece unless there is no market.

Wow, i guess i didnt realize 3 prospects was far too much to ask for one of the top ten-fifteen hitters in history. and my comments were in response to a question posed my another member...jeez why the hostility, cant we just all be friends?

Yeah, a 35 year old slugger that is always looking for a way to update Tom Emanski's video with his unique style of playing left field. Do you think he will keep producing the same way when he is on the wrong side of 35?

I don't think the Sox will be getting 1/2 of what they are asking for. Remember before the trade deadline the Dodgers were also interested in David Wells. Theo asked for Kemp or Loney, and the Dodgers front office said no thanks. Then Theo dropped his asking price to a backup catcher from San Diego. If the Sox thinks they need to movie Manny to free up cash then I would expect them to get a closer, and one front line prospect.

Yet another Sox fan underestimating the Dodger's youngsters.

Remind me how old Manny is again? Do you expect the Dodgers to trade their top 3 players from the best minor league system in baseball for an injury-prone headache on the downside of his career?

Answer this question: If Manny is so good, why are the Sox trying to trade him? Money doesn't seem to be an issue. We all know it's because Manny is an *******. Should the Dodgers trade the farm for a 35-year-old headcase with a HUGE salary? Hell no.

Posted
why the hostility. Because this puke is a LA Dodger fan who follows people to other boards to troll. What a loser.

Really? Could have fooled me. Where do you come up with this?

Are you trying to tell me that if Broxton and Hall were traded for Manny, that Hall would be the main piece coming from the Dodgers' side?

If not, then why are you arguing my point? Just to be a pain in the ass?

my point is that Broxton is a guy who they should try to move. Hall is just a stupid idea. The guy has trouble posting a .700OPS. He may get non-tendered. Your use of him for Manny shows how little you actually know about baseball.

What? "My use"??? I was responding to a poster on here who said that he heard the possible trade was Broxton and Hall for Manny, with Hall as the main piece.

Reading comprehension, buddy. Give it a try.

I don't know who you are but you certainly aren't my wife. Get a new handle or get the hell back to your Dodger Blues website where all the racists, gay bashers, and bigots hang out. On second thought, maybe you ought to send me a private message so I can find out who exactly you are. Linda Peritore is a classy lady and the best wife in the world and you shouldn't be using her name as your handle.

Manny talks about kaput, apparently. One GM is calling the Sox' bluff, too (although anonymously).

I hope they are done shopping him. I hated just about every package that I heard. Keeping him will keep the two-headed monster in place, and Yankee fans will be disappointed once again. The Dodgers were *******s if they didn't offer Broxton. A 290 lb pitcher is not going to last very long, even as a short man. That is just way too big a frame. His knees will be shot in 4 or 5 years.

If they'd be willing to trade Peavy and Gonzalez' date=' id be all over it.[/quote']

The Pads are going to lose an ace and an emerging 1B...SD won't do that. No way in hell. Manny is just impossible to trade at this age. Time to face reality.

I'll take that reality. Ortiz-Manny-Drew is a great 3-4-5. I'll be happy when shopping him is over.

How would one go about changing their handle?

I hear Linda is into Anal.

Listen you bum; you aren't going to get away with crap like that around here. We don't have a pack of racists, gaybashing, anti-Hispanic bigots around here. You will not last long around here and I will tell yezsir to get your rear end off this board just like he got that friend of yours the other day. Get back to Dodger Blues where all the losers like you hang out.
