now that the dust has settled

and the yanks came into town, killed the men, raped the women and stole the children

i think its safe to rule the sox out of the running

so who do we sox fans cheer for??

yanks fans need not comment unless they have a national league opinion

in the al

i loved this chisox team last season but as of late?

the lefty buehrle and the big man contreras have been beatable, theyve gone too far into the hole and i like detroit to hang on and win

with chicago in the wild card slot as minnys liriano is being held back with forearm problems near the elbow....santana cant pitch every game

in the east

its ny unless their team plane crashes and even then i like them

in the west

i like the angels because imo they have deeper pitching and can manufacture some offense behind the behemoth guererro

the a's have better starters

however i think their bullpen is suspect and their bats will struggle against the halos down the stretch...it could go either way but i like the angels over the next 5 weeks

if it is a prediction, I really don't have a clue, but as for who I want to win outside of the Sox, I kind of sympathize with the Mets, but that a-hole that was on here bugged me. Still, I wouldn't mind the Mets winning from the NL. I kind of hope if the Sox don't get there that the Tigers win the World Series to make people finally believe they are good. I have to say, America is ignorant. Nobody will believe the Tigers can do it until they actually do.

i saw the tigers for the 1st time last week when they beat becks

theyre good, soup to nuts kind of good

i think they lack a bit of power but they run hit and pitch pretty good

they have the best catcher ever and he calls a pretty good game

i like their pen with the exception of jones

they got lots of balance and i wouldnt mind seeing them win as a rags to riches story

its the city of detroit that makes me vomit, not the team

i have the stub in my desk

i could tell that sean casey was dipping skoal mint and that dmi young didnt shower before the game and that maggie mae ordonez may be a homosexual based on his hair doo...

(mousse is out for straight guys isnt it??)

they looked good coco

who do you like in the nl

the mets are the favorites obviously but the dodgers are hotter than sheffields wife at an elger convention

but my choice is cinicinatti

man i love that team but theyre so very flawed i doubt they can get it done

I would imagine you guys should rally around the Tigers, as they are not only a likeable and scrappy team, but also likely the only team that could knock off the Yankees this October.

Honestly though, I would love to see another Subway Series. I'll be old enough to appreciate it this time.

Sect. 24 granstand row 10 here.

If Pedro and Glavine are strong and healthy, I gotta say the Mets. I would root for LA if Mueller didnt get hurt.

i hate la

but i like their team a bit

id love to see petey put together a nice run but as it stands the mets got maine, elduque and un gatz right now

a healthy and rested petey is essential to win the series

i think they win the pennant but im cheering for the reds....If they get there

Dodgers, Tigers, Yankees*

*Only if the NL tem is not the dodgers and if it is the WS. I don't give two shits if your going to be a a pussy and call me a yankee fan. I root for the AL even if it is the yanks. I know a number of yankee fans that did the same thing for the red sox.

I root for good baseball outside of Sox and Yanks' date=' and now White Sox and Twins.[/quote']

That was meant for SF#1. His was the last post in the thread when I typed my response out, and you responded in the interim.

I guess in the NL, I'd like to see the Dodgers in it. And I think that the Mets got ahead very early luckily enough for them, becuase I feel their going to decline over the next month, but then pick it up just in time to be in the shape they were early on when Playoffs start, So for them, i think a lot has to do with Wrights bat, which has hushed since the Break.

Tigers.

Last season, the ChiSox started off hot and everyone said they wouldnt keep it up. They did, and ended up being the best team in baseball and winning the World Series.

Now, the Tigers started off hot and everyone said they wouldnt keep it up, and they did, becoming the best team in baseball.

I think its patently obvious that the Tigers are going to win the World Series whether we root for them or not, especially given how badly the National League played in interleague this season.

Hey, why not the Mets? They are a team that has not won in a while, and have some very exciting players on their roster.

pitching might be a problem come playoff time.

I would like to see the Mets beat the Yankees in the WS. This would destroy Yankee fans. With the choking collapse of 2004 still fresh in their minds and psyches, a loss to the Mets would send them into hiding to lick their freshly re-opened wounds. Yankee fans played the Ostrich with the head in the sand when we beat them because the presence of Red Sox fans in NYC is not at all prevalent, but to lose to the Mets and have to share the city with gloating Mets fans would be very enjoyable for me to witness.

I would rather see another 1st round loss to the wild card team.

The Tigers are a very well rounded team, similar to last year's White Sox. They have a great rotation 1-5, there is no given day where Tigers fans think they cannot win (we've got 3). Their playoff rotation will be: Rogers, Verlander, Bonderman, and Robertson, a very good rotation. They have a great offense, 1-9, with no easy out. When your #9 hitter has 21 homers in August, something is right (don't mention the .243 average, just do not). They have a spunky leadoff hitter, Granderson, a perfect 2 hitter when Polanco returns, if he does, Magglio Ordonez is having a great year after injuries, and after getting Sean Casey, they now also have Dmitri Young back. Their bullpen is strong, with Zumaya, who should close, Rodney, a quality 2nd setup man. Todd Jones is not a very good closer, with an ERA in the 4's, but he gets the job done, with 34 saves. He has the mental toughness to do it, being a veteran. And, might I add, a poor sportswriter. They have a good manager in Jim Leyland, who, similar to Jack McKeon of the 2003 Marlins, is old, and has been out of managing for a decent amount of time.

Prediction: Yankees, Tigers, Athletics, Twins in the AL, Mets, Cardinals, Dodgers, Reds in the NL.

Twins and Tigers in the ALCS, Mets and Dodgers in the NLCS.

Tigers over Mets in the World Series, 4 games to 2.

There are a couple of things that should concern a Tigers fan about the Tigers. One of which you mentioned in your post. Todd Jones in a big spot? Sounds like they are asking for trouble. Kenny Rogers in the post season is brutal(Trust me I know), Verlander has worn down due to being over his normal innings and he is going to go way over it once they get to the post season. The Tigers must be careful with him or they will have another Mark Prior on their hands. Not to mention that its going to be Verlander, Bonderman and Robertson's first time in the post season. I do however like Rodney and Zumya alot.

I'd like to see Pujols win a World Series, although this year's Cardinals team isn't built for a championship.

I'll go with the Tigers since they have the best chance of taking out the Yankees.

i like this angels team if they could ever get some runs

ocab batting 3rd??

cheese dick ownership my friends

despite my fondness for mr cabrerra he aint a 3 hitter

that tigers team could use some plate discipline but i agree

theyll be tuff to handle

im not so sure chicago dont repeat in the al

anyone who calls jay mariotti a faggot is ok by me

mariotti should be placed in the care of an english nanny fukin baby that he is

i think its going to be hard to beat the mets in the nl

soup to nuts they got the best lineup

if their pitching can hold up they win walking away

IF is the key word here, theyre old

elduque petey glavine trachsel??

bein on the west coast, i'll admit i'm biased, but outside of the red sox, i'm rooting for the angels (despite their anemic offense-shame on you stoneman!) and the dodgers in the nl(despite gettin swept by the madres-they always play us tough). i wouldnt mind it if detroit went all the way but i absolutely cant stand chicago. that arrogant f***ing hothead ozzie makes me hate the chisox, even though i have nothing against the players (except pierzynski). the mets to me got fat earlier in the season playin in a weaker division.
