I agree with what you said about Ozzie...and I can't staaaaaaand Pierzynski at all. And the thing is, I hated him long before I ever had a reason to. Just looking at him makes me mad. As far as the Mets go, I'm really pulling for them. They do play in a VERY weak division, but I still feel like they are, hands down, the best team in the National League. And they're made up of a bunch of good guys, which I like, too. I grew up in Syracuse, NY...where both Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green played their AAA ball. I got the chance to talk to both of them multiple times, and even though they were considered the "next big things" they always took time out before AND after games to sign autographs and interact with the fans. That goes a long way with me. I'd love to see them both win a WS.

Assuming the Sox are toooooooootally out of it...I would love to see the Twins take the Wildcard. I like Gardenhire a lot and I think the years that Mauer, Morneau, Liriano, Santana, Johan, and Joe Nathan put together are deserving of something bigger than a pat on the back. Their run was unmatched this year.

If we don't see the Sox go anywhere this year. I'd like to see the Tigers just because of what they have been able to do the last couple of years. Going from the worst team in the league with 119 losses to the best team in the league with 81 wins. A really nice turnaround and it would be a great accomplishment for that team if they went all the way.

i wouldnt mind seeing detroit win

i like pudge and the young arms,i like leyland and his approach to the game as well

in the nl its open for anyone now

the mets are the best 8 but their pitching is now officially realing from injury

the dodgers are ablaze and if penny and lowe can be consistant theyll be hard to beat

the reds just got cooked in sanfran and are now tied for the wild card and 3 out of 1st

the st louis club sucks

mulder sucks, their bullpen sucks but they do have albert

could be some surprises this fall

I agree with you...Leyland is a helluva guy and he's got to have Manager of the Year locked up (that is, if Francona doesn't get it. ) I'd love to see the Tigers or the Mets do it...but I'm easy with that because both of those teams have OUTSTANDING young talent. If they don't do it this year, they'll have ample opportunities in the future.

i was about to comment on francona being mentioned with leyland then i saw the smile face

i have a hard time rooting for the mets but theyre not the yanks

so i deal with it

i like their infield a lot and beltrans having an mvp year

its the pitching that worries me about that club

petey looks like s***

glavine is older than s***(we're classmates)

trachsel and el duque will have to step up and billy wagner is scary in crunch time

should be a good ride

I really think that Glavine and Pedro are both far healthier than the Mets are letting on. I think it's seen as a slap in the face to fans to put your stars on the shelf for the remainder of the regular season when you've got the division well in hand, but it's simply smart managing. When you have veteran, and in this situation, veteran is just a nice way of saying "really old and not as durable as they used to be", arms carrying the vast majority of your pitching obligations, you've gotta make sure these guys are top notch and well rested going into the post season. I don't doubt that they're both a bit banged up, but I bet either could pitch continuously. The thing is, there's no reason to pitch them, and there's no one else that would benefit more than the two of them getting a bunch of time off prior to the October run.

I don't think the FO is even trying to hide its motivation with regard to Pedro. From the beginning they said that they were DL'ing him as a precaution, because they are not in a tight race. They know that they need Pedro in top form for the playoffs. I think Glavine's health scare was for real, but they will no doubt rest him down the stretch too. It's a nice luxury to have. I'm looking forward to seeing a rested Pedro on the big stage again.

problem with petey is hes gone 7ip once since june

twice since may

a patient team will get into the mets bullpen quickly as the yanks used to do to him here

glavine??

i dont know, hes ted lilly with a bit more mileage

maybe petey is saving it or the mets are hoping hes saving it

from my view point he had nothing left the last 3 starts

in any case we'll see soon enuff

Changed my mind. I will be cheering for the Florida Marlins to win the World Series from here on out.

that would be the balls

Annie sanchez and hanley as co mvps??

their 15,000,000.00 payroll equels 60% of arods salary

their fans dont deserve it

locked in a pennant race and going head to head against the team in front of them the had seats open behind home plate last nite

really sad because that team has really been special this season

they should allow loria to leave miami, perhaps merge with tampa bay and then you may have a team

f*** em

that being said

theyre not the yankees so its not so hard to take
