OK all you Bruins fans...yeah, I'm talking to both of ya...

Bruins got their a$$es handed ot them big time Tuesday night by the Sabres. In every category they were outplayed, but the main issue I saw was as follows and the B's have a chance to do something about it tonight.

In the first period, Dave Krejci was hit by Adam Maier after the whistle, high, sending him to the ice with a concussion. The Bruins did NOTHING about it. Later Marc Savard was sent head first into the boards (may have been dressed up a little by Savard) and the B's did NOTHING.

Unless the Bruins stand up for each other, physically, this team will never come together. They absolutely suk right now.

Tonight thy play the Sabres again...at home. I plan to watch and see if there is any character left in this team. A poor showing tonight...void of any physicallity...will tell me that its time to move some players and try to rebuild this once proud franchise. I could see Brad Stuart hitting the road, perhaps Marco Sturm joining him. Beyond that I thinkjust about anyone who'd bring decent young talent or fdraft picks is expendable.

Patrice Bergeron was thought to be the future of the organization...he's having a fair offensive season, but defensively and physically he is a no show most games. We saw fire in him last year...where has that gone? (I DO think his linemates tend to frustrate him...he's not a "do it all yourself" kinda guy like Crosby).

Brad Boyes was a promising youngster two years ago...he's shown me next to nothing this year, other than a penchant for taking shifts off.

Marco Sturm? Seldom involved in anyway. 12 goals, 10 assists...and a -18 rating.

Primeau, Donovan, Mowers? Decent effort, but these guys are muckers, they're not going to be prolific scorers...isolated they are ok...but The B's have too many of these guys

The goaltending has been crappy. Toivonen was our upcoming goalie...he possesses a 4.33 GAA and a pissy .869 SP. Tim Thomas has had some nice games but too often falters. His GAA is about 20th in the league and his SP is .901...27th in the league among those who've played 20 or more games.

Marc Savard has been fantastic, save for some stupid penalties. Glen Murray is what he is. Chara has been ok, but he's pretty much on his own, and playing 28 minutes with this group of losers and holding a -9 +/- rating is really not that bad.

I'm personally in the camp of tear this team up and start fresh...cuz right now they are a friggin' embarassment.

Bruins really suck. Rangers throttled them the other night, and the Rangers are playing poorly. I'd like to get Boyes if he'll come cheaply. I think he'd do well between Shanahan and Prucha.

Besides, we know he's already poised to jump on the Sabres bandwagon...

Being a Detroit fan doesn't help the cause. Any time somebody is a fan of teams that aren't even geographically close to anyone and all those teams are/have been successful, chances are the person's a bandwagoner. The 49ers, Red Sox, Red Wings, and Mavericks... not one of those teams is close to any of the others and they've all been successful somewhat recently.

I'm not interested in the NHL all-star game because I don't follow the players as much. It's a waste of my time to try to remember names that I can't pronounce. I know the players on the Bruins, and some other good players. If I have to choose between a season of the NBA or a season of the NHL, give me the NHL 10/10 times. More contact, more temper, overall more excitement.

College basketball, however, is a completely different story. Give me college basketball over the NHL any day of the week. I tend to have the most fun when March Madness is around.

To each his own. I love basketball. Basketball has it's flaws for sure, but the lack of personalities in hockey is a turnoff. I watched NHL All-Star break stuff, and while it's set up the same as the NBA, you don't see the players personalities show like you do with the NBA, which is half the fun -- seeing guys like Shaq, Agent Zero, etc. I do like college basketball more than the NBA, come tournament time, anyway, because it almost seems like NBA players are too good. 'll watch college basketball all day too. Just this weekend I was watching Moorehead vs. Atlanta Clark... I have no attachment to either team, couldn't tell you where Moorehead is and didn't know that Atlanta Clark was a college, even.

Like I said, basketball has it's problems, but hockey's are far, far worse.

i became a red wings fan because of yzerman , not to mentioned my dad was a wings fan himself so obviously i grew up watching the wings . I started being a mavs fan in 98 when nash was with them ( speaking of wich the mavs havent won it all , so how the f*** does that make me a bandwagoner ) . 49ers , again i grew up watching them with my dad (BTW the 49ers havent done much since 95 so again how the f*** does that make me a bandwagoner) so shut your mouth and stop acting like you know everything

EDIT: unlike most canadian . i wasent raised by watching the montreal canadians , blue jays etc . wich explains the sports teams i route for

I used to work with a guy here in Connnecticut (back in the late 80's...he's probably 42 or so) whose teams are:

Yankees

Canadiens

Celtics

Cowboys

Bandwagoner if I ever saw one.

The Celtics are pretty much the only legitimate claim as a bandwagon team during the 80s. The decade belonged to the Islanders and Oilers in hockey, everyone but the Yankees in baseball, and the Cowboys didn't start winning until the 90s.

In the NBA/NHL debate, I really have lost interest in the Association. The game has become a 5x5, 1-on-1 tournament.

I also abhor how players get treated, from a young age. If somebody sees some talent, they kiss their ass, tell them their the greatest, and how they don't need to listen to anyone, because they'll be a superstar NBA player. So the players get this arrogance, despite the fact they're incredibly ignorant (Tim Hardaway?), which drives me insane.

None of that crap in hockey, the players are much more down to earth. If you chat yourself up, be ready to get your ass handed to you. You don't get to throw a punch at somebody and then sprint to another zip code to get away with it.

I do like college ball, if only for the fact that the players there are usually playing for pride, and not to increase the draft status. The game is emminently more entertaining when you see these guys hustling to win, and not avoiding all contact to prevent an injury during a contract year.

True. I grew up with a kid who became a sports agent. The kid was smart, but is most remembered as being a smart ass, a user, a liar, etc.

He went to law school and went into representing pro athletes...of course he's such a scum, it makes sense he'd target basketball players...hockey players would have seen right through him.

Anyway, he's been accused of making payoffs to AAU coaches so that they'd steer their top players his way when it came that time. His accuser, a former employee, settled out of court so the case never went the distance.

So the AAU coaches are being paid off..but what incentive do the kids themselves have of actually using him as their agent, since they can't talk to an agent yet? Ahha, if you're thinking like I am, you're thinking they're already getting some sort of "assistance", or promises...there is probably something shady going down.

You are right...all of this contributes to the arrogance and ignorance many players have before they even hit the NBA and the big time.

Please. The stars can say whatever they want and a player won't lay a finger on them. They get as much special treatment from the ref, Ovechkin and Crosby, that is, as any NBA player and nobody's going to touch some of these guys because if you touch Ovechkin, you'll be answering to Donald Brashear. The stars have other players do their bidding for them.

Ask Crosby if he's been hit. The fkn guy has been drilled more than his fair share of times...and wait till playoff time. He will be a target.

Unfortunately the league doesn't allow enforcers the same latitude they were afforded years ago. There was a time where if your offensive leaders got hit the enforcer could do what he had to do WITHOUT and instigator penalty. Now they almost always draw extra minutes.

How often do Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin say anything? On the other hand, the Rangers Sean Avery talks a lot, and what happens? Watch the first period of the Rangers-Flyers game on Saturday. Philadelphia was legitimately trying to injure players during the frame (6 penalties).

Referee Bill McCreary whistled the Flyers for infractions directly related to Avery five times: Fedoruk picked up a double minor for roughing, Mike Richards actually dropped the gloves and fought Avery, Ben Eager got a roughing minor and a 10-minute misconduct, Pitkanen cross-checked him on the same play three times after Avery made a derogatory remark to Pitkanen and Alexi Zhitnik caught him with a high stick.

Has any of that happened to Carmelo Anthony?

The problem in the NHL is, again, IMO, the fact that the league doesn't allow direct retaliation versus the players that are running around causing the s***.

Used to be a guy like Ken Linseman, Dale Hunter, Matthew Barnaby, etc...you know, those players who are friggin ballbreakers...would eventually pay for their actions and an enforcer could take them on with no major repercussions.

Now? If they challenge a guy, they get whistled for instigating...so they can't police their own game. What happens is everyone on the opposing team becomes a target, but not a target to fight, but a target to take a stick, elbow, knee, etc. and it will be like it was an accident.

Got to let the players go after the players who are starting s***.

exactly ... the thing is with crosby , unlike most stars he dosent have anyone to defend him wich is gonna hurt them soon , if the pens were smart they would go get a scrapper to protect crosby , if not he's just gonna get hit more and more
