Pronger's going to be tough to get for any team

from NY Post

Lowe asked Florida GM Mike Keenan for 23-year-old defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, 21-year-old center Nathan Horton and the 10th-overall pick in yesterday's draft for Pronger.

theres been a leak on the new sabres logo, and hopefully this isn't it:

http://www.sabresreport.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2006/06/sabreslogo2006-07.jpg

The only positive I can make out of this is now that we have seen it so early perhaps we can raise hell and make sure these crap jersey's never see the light of day.

They look like a mullet...maybe they haven't told us yet but we are actually changing our team name as well. Come watch the Buffalo Mullets play the Ottawa Senators this Urine Yellow Friday.

it looks VERY familiar to the NFL Ram's logo.

and on the bottom it says: logosondemand.com, so who knows?

saw this on another board and thought it was pretty funny..

Well I just got the scoop that these are 100% legit. And LogosOnDemand is a service the NHL, and some other sports leagues and associations, use to provide their logos and marks to the media outlets.

Well its not the jersey, it's the players in them, right?

...and they extended qualifying offers to 22 players, so look for most of the core of that team to be back...Good News.

on an actual jerseey it doesn't look as bad

just needs some sabres under it

Yeah, I just saw that on another message board I frequent.

It really is awful looking. Could be legit, being considering the logosondemand part...

However, considering that, I imagine that if you're a member of logosondemand.net and you do leak logos, there are some sort of penalties -- especially when a team is as set to wait to reveal their logos as the Sabres seem to be.

That said, that is the Official Stylesheet that the NHL uses. But, the following was created by somebody on the forums of a graphic design, particularly sports logos, community I frequent to show that it'd be easy to fake...

So it could very easily be a fake.

appears that this will be the Concept of Jersey.

Similar to the original Blue and Gold, with arched stripes. Also made the buffalo white, the only color it should be. Working with the logo, has made it start to grow on me. Away version to come.

Does make it look a little bit better. I'm still hoping this is the NHL's attempt to try and throw off the public, more specifically the people that usually leak these logos early.

What would you think about the following, YS?

Love that one SR, b/c it def. brings back the old and the new, and I can't believe that the new Sabres logo doesn't have SABRES in it.

From a sabres board I frequent at:

Ok, since you really can't handle things I say, Im going to sum up everything in a nice little paragraph, if you dont understand it, tough s***, thats your own fault for not being able to comprehend English.

Listen these logos in the thread are not it ok? I have a very good idea, more so than anyone else on this board, other than eSabre, but I cant come out and blab everything to everyone. You'll have to deal with it, all I can tell you is dont get too attached to these, or hate them too much, because you're not going to have to worry about them. Thats all Im saying.

I dont care who wants me to "just tell us" and all the crap, Im not going to, one because I can't, two because Im not positive on the exact logo and exact shades of the blue and gold. I have a goo idea of them, but no enough to say the exacts. However I do know enough to say these logos shown in this thread arent it, ok?

Heres another potential, I could see this as a shoulder mark, but I just like the 'B' with the Sabres going through it.

I don't know. I've seen a few very reputable sources say that these logos are, in fact, legit. As much as I want this logo to be fake, I fear they may be the real deal.

Get in touch with the team and complain. Suprisingly, that works on occassion. From what I here, the reaction from Sabres fans has been negative regarding the new jerseys, so if enough people do it... you never know.

For instance, you all may or may not know that in '91, the 49ers were set to reveal a new helmet. This helmet became known as the one day helmet because public reaction was that bad.

Here is a question:

Is this logo the third jersey logo?

This is possible. One of my parents friends worked for the Buffalo Bills merchandise department in the past and on each item from reebok there would be a 'primary mark' and secondary mark' (if applicable). this leaked chart could be in fact for a third jersey. They would still call the buffalo swoosh a 'primary mark'. the 'secondary mark', the b with the sword is the secondary mark.

On this particular form, they would not say 'third mark' for the mark on the third jersey.

i am thinking this scenario may be entirely possible... and would also be a futher explaination why the sabres unwillingness to say anything.

Hey Moose, what do you think about this rumor?

"The Kings may move Conroy today. Perhaps as part of a deal for Biron or perhaps to the Preds for a defensive prospect."

Figured I'd post it, since it's out there. I, for one, think Conroy would be a welcomed and solid addition, although I would like to bring Aaron Miller, the Buffalo Native, back home.

Who gives a flying F about Lake Erie and the Canadian falls? hahaha

Concept 4 is the worst thing I've ever seen. It's like the New England Patriots, the Mercury Dime, and a Minotaur got in a 3-way car wreck....looks like sasquatch.

Concept 1c though is far better than the mullet.

Cross another one off the list:

Mark Parrish signs with Minnesota for 5 years at 2.36 mil. per season.

They should be a lot better on the offensive side of the puck with Gaborik, Demitra, and now Parrish. But, will just miss the playoffs, IMO.

Alright, well, here I go

It appears that some teams still don't get it. These fat cat GMs are still throwing crazy amounts of money at one or two players while the rest of the team is relegated to splitting the scraps of payroll left under the cap.

How do these GMs not remember that this is the same exact behavior that took them to a bitter battle with the player's association and a year-long lockout? The owners were so staunch about their position and that they just "couldn't make money under the old system, etc." yet here we are again--throwing crazy money at one or two guys. Look at Kubina, Hatcher and McCabe to get examples...they were signed for big money under the new NHL. I don't get it. Because of a few idiots, the whole league (once again) is forced to pay the Jay McKee's of the world $4 mil for blocking shots. Now, I'm not saying that he's not worth it comparitively speaking. I'm saying the people setting the bar are getting paid too much when there are other players on the team that deserve raises as well.

These long-term commitments will hurt those teams in the future with a cap on the payroll. Look at NJ w/ the Mogilny situation. This season, he will be paid 3.5 mil to play for Albany, and it counts against the cap. Come on, these GMs need to realize that this is not 1987 and see these players for what they are -- long-term commitments that asks the players for no real commitment in return to kill themselves to play. Once signed to 4, 5 or 7 year deal, what's the incentive in year 6 when you are 36 years old?

I am quite pleased that all these teams are signing ONE PLAYER to major contracts and handcuffing their team's future to aging players. It cannot be good and only time will tell. Hell, I don't even want to commit to the same car for 7 years!

On the other hand, I hope Buffalo signs one marquis d-man to ensure that we have a chance to go all the way. By marquis, I don't mean big money, just a great value and upside--even if a little older. They don't need to be our savior, they just need to be the piece of the puzzle that completes the team (leadership, patience, puck-handling, great pp), because remember this same team went to the Conference Finals just a year ago, and our GM waited out the FA period, so I trust him.
