I was thinking today about how far ahead the Caps are on everyone else. They have possibly the worse division in all of the NHL. Wonder what their stats would be if they had some good teams in their division. If they were in the Atlantic (where they should be), they would probably be right up there with Pitt and NJ, but not as many points. Personally, I don't think they're winning jack w/ that goaltending and 25th-ranked PK. But great job beating up on Tampa, Carolina, Atlanta and Florida all year. What a joke of a division.

I think the Capitals got screwed on that no-goal of theirs. I don't think the Caps player interfered with the goalie.

Knuble's right skate clipped Halak's right skate/pad. By the letter of the rule, that's interference. The goalie doesn't always get that call but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be called.

I think it was a pretty weak call myself but let's not say the Caps got screwed, they lost because of their ineffectiveness on the PP and the fact thatt they could not solve Halak.

 

Caps can't say the refs screwed them in this series. They lost games 5 and 6 to put themselves in this position anyway.

I would disagree. I really don't see any contact that interferes with Halak's ability to make the save. Also, where the official was standing, he couldn't have either. I don't think that's a call you can make in a game like that.

 

And clearly the Caps played poorly enough to lose the series, but with a goal being disallowed in what was a one goal game at the time, a bad call played a much larger role in that game than one ever should.

Actually, oddly enough the Bruins had Versteeg. They drafted him in 2004 and traded him to the Hawks in 2007 for Brandon Bochenski. In retrospect, a pretty lopsided trade.

Kessel for two first rounders will be lopsided too. Kessel can score goals, but he doesn't have the desire or the toughness to be a top player in the league. Seguin or Hall, those will be top players
