I'm a little concerned the Olympics might f*** the Hawks over. Kane, Toews, Hossa, Keith, and Seabrook. Can't really afford to lose any of those players to injury.

Every team that's contending has that same issue. Bruins have Thomas, Chara, Bergeron, Krejci, Sturm and now Satan. They can't afford that either.

Anyone catch the USA/Canada World Junior Championship game tonight? Unbelievable. Even better that we beat Canada to end there 5 year streak. World Junior Tournament is consistently the best hockey anywhere, any time. I was very impressed with Team USA's speed and collapsing defense. Nice to have it on American soil next year in Buffalo.

Love this battle cry: http://watch.tsn.ca/international-hockey/clip252487#clip252487

What does everyone think of the USA Olympic Roster? I like it, the USA realizes they can't go toe to toe with Canada or Russia in terms of overall talent, but they have roughly 6-10 elite players surrounded by guys that will work their tails off. Most of these guys are great locker-room guys as well, so they should gel as a team quick. Its going to be fun to see if Miller and Thomas can steal a medal for the USA.

I like the youth on the team. Solid goaltending. Lots of depth. Strong group of forwards headlined by Parise and Kane. D could be a little stronger, but Rafalski is still very good. They could be exciting.

Wow, Hawks blew a 5-1 lead in the third period to the Wild. Then lost in a shootout. Huet gave up 3 goals in 2 minutes 5 seconds. Quenneville had better let Nieme do most of the goaltending in the playoffs. Defining moment of the season, IMO. How will they respond?

Hawks have hit a wall. They got an old-fashioned ass whoopin' tonight.

I still wouldn't bet against them. San Jose is ridiculous as well.

I'll be shocked if the West finals are anything but those two.

Sharks have the most points in the West every year and then get knocked out in the 1st round, what leads you to believe that is gonna change this year?

Due to Detroits aging I think this is S/Jose's year to take over the West.

That Chicago team is fun, they got some play makers and are real quick but in June its usually the deepest teams that advance and Detroit had played with 4 lines forever, the bigger more physical teams are hard to knock out in a 7 game series and I think San Jose maybe on the cusp of getting it done...Who do we like in the East?...DC or Pitt?....Pitt are defending champs and they got more than 1 stud, Ovechkin is the best player in the game I feel, he reminds me very much of Mark Messier as hes a scoring machine that can also kick the s*** out of you if he must.

Since they opened the ice up a few years back I started watching again and this years olympics were full of some amazing hockey and the next month will be a let down in comparison.

That said nothing beats playoff hockey, playoff hockey turns these rinks into zones of complete bedlam.

Morris to Phoenix

Seidenberg to Boston

Lateral move, maybe a bit of cap savings. Looks like Chia's doing his usual and holding pat at the deadline.

Well, it's gotten us into the playoffs 2 of the 3 years he's done it, so not complaining.

I find that my interest in hockey is waning as Opening Day draws closer. Could also have something to do with how the Hawks have been playing the last month or so.

I'm not a huge hockey fan' date=' but Lundqvist is playing great, and the Rangers are up 1-0 after two periods in Philadelphia.[/quote']

That had to have been the most exciting shootout in NHL history with a playoff berth on the line. I'm glad Philly won, and knocking Montreal to the 8 spot was an added bonus.
