Overall, the XRays taken show that his bone hasnt healed enough to begin swinging. New XRays will be taken late next week and his timetable has been pushed back to late may/early june....

This really belongs in the current When will Crisp return? thread. Despite your desire to draw maximum attention to any and all bad news for the Sox, not every news article on a subject warrants it's own thread.

It would have gotten lost at the end of the thread. As far as being a pissah, well, I do not wish anyone to be injured and I sure dont want to hear the bitching about how Crisp aint in there, so I hope he returns soon. The problem is, the yankees and sox meet 10 more times between now and June 8th and then we dont see each other again till august 18th. Those games are crucial and you will need Crisp there for at least the 4 game set in early june...

Everything beyond the first sentence is meaningless drivel in terms of what I am saying. There is a thread dedicated to discussing Crisp's injury/return timetable. That is where this belongs.

care to assess your thoughts on Crisp's setback then?

It sucks, but it's encouraging that the team is still competitive without their best baserunner and defensive OF.

I agree. The sox have played rather well in his absence, although they are still 6-8 in their last 14. They start a tough series in the Bronx against our top 3 pitchers and then have to host the Rangers who are playing really well right now. If you guys get through June 8th without major deficit, then you should be players for the yr. You should have Crisp back for most of your painful stretch. That is from May 29th to June 18th, when you play TorX3, TexX3, NYYX4, DETX3, MINX#, and ATLX3 consecutively.

Pena in a bigger ballpark will be fun to watch. When he comes to yankee stadium he wont have the benefit of the monster in left cutting down his need for range....

I think we will be fine and I'm not worried about the long stretch...we have top pitching and a solid lineup...I guarantee the Red Sox will win there share of games. I would expect the Yanks and Sox to be about .500 against each other like always.

Pena in a bigger ballpark will be fun to watch. When he goes to Yankee stadium and crushes your so-called 3 top pitchers (whoever that is).

Pena will go 3 for 15 in the 3 game set with a HR. 2 doubles, and 12 K's, lol....

meaning he gets 5 ab's per game from the 8-slot' date=' meaning your pitching sucks.[/quote']

I have a feeling that one of the games is gonna go extras....

12 Ks....guess I could see that....but if I'm going to give the Yanks 12 Ks I'm going to give Willy Mo 3 HRs off those 3 hits.

I would also love to see a Yanks-Sox game go extras....those are always fun

yeah they are. Nothing like chewing off your nails until you bleed, pissing with the door open and the mirrors aimed just right so you can see the screen, drinking an extra 6 pack an inning, feeling nauseated and ready to hurl at the start of every pitch. Such is the life of the fan

Coco's return is gonna add a ton of depth to the batting order and when he comes back, Youk should bat 2nd unless Loretta gets his average up

I think Coco coming back will make Loretta a better offensive player. I think they really started to click at the begining of the season. Youk needs to be further down in the lineup to drive in runs. Him being at the top of the order is the reason for our lack of run production, and it's also the reason AGon is always hitting with people on base.

How bad was his initial injury(Crisp)? Becuase hasn't it only been about 3 weeks? I barly broke my 5th metocarpol over the summer, and I was casted for like 6 weeks, and then couldn't do anything for 10 days after I got it off. He must be healing pretty well to even maybe be back already

He broke it about 4 weeks ago I think. Also, you have to factor in that he has access to world class trainers and his livelihood requires his hands to work. Your prognosis is standard for the typical patient. If Coco had healed as expected, he'd be swinging right now. He didnt, so it'll be a little while longer.

Yea, thats right, guess I didn't think it far through

Thanks. Much like looking at pics from the Sox World Series, that Bus pic always makes me smile. I can't say I give a s*** what he did at ND, but I'll never forget his years in black and gold.

Rivernator, I knew this was coming. I said when it happened these injuries take a hell of a lot longer to heal than what is stated at the time. Forget early June; Crisp won't be ready until late June or early July. This is going to take more time. My anger is with the Red Sox management who wore rose colored glasses while trying to snow us on how quickly Coco would be back. Any baseball fan who has followed the game for any length of time knows these injuries don't no heal fast at all. Hell, Jason Werth of the Dodgers got in in the wrist in the FIRST game of ST in 2005 and is still not able to play.

We didn't need him last night or last week against your Yankees Riverman, but we would be much stronger with him than without him----so on that you are mostly right. Pena has stepped up nicely for us so the loss hasn't really hurt us yet. We think we can hold on for another month. I certainly hope so.

Riverman, ask Jeter if Pena has enough range to play in Yankee Stadium. In fact, I'll ask you. See the game last night? See the play in the 8th inning? Enough range for you or are you both inclined to be a Melky man?

I think I may have just suffered the same injury Coco has. I'm going to the doctors tomorrow morning but my finger is really swollen and it's specifically around the knuckle.
