Does anyore collect autographs? I do, and I have about 250 (mostly current players), I started about 2 or 3 years ago and I get them mostly at Fenway and minor league parks. I think its a fun hobby.

i have a couple, such as yaz and cal ripken and cal ripken jr, but i don't collect them as a hobby. I pick them up as i go.

WOW! thats awesome, that must have huge cash value. Sounds like you really are into collecting and are obviously very dedicated

I've got a few from games I've gone to. Nomar, Arroyo, Vlad, Delgado, and Luis Gonzalez are among the top ones I had. By far the best place to get autographs was Montreal's Olympic Stadium when I went to the games players were very willing to sign and there was pretty much no competition from fans since no one went to the games.

Without certificates of authenticity, they aren't worth anything. However, in sentimental value, I'd call them priceless.

When I went to Spring Training 2 years ago, Luis Tiant signed 5 balls and threw them into a crowd of about 200. I got one of them, I'd say it's priceless.

And for 50%, I got a picture of them signing it. On like 5 of them, I got letters from the player also, and the rest have COAs. COAs mean s***, personally, you can send 3,000,000 Cap Anson autographs(I guy who never signed), and some of these COA places would say that their all real, and your be a millioniar. If its for your personal collection, really, they don't matter, cuz if you and everyone else think its real, whos it hurt. Its selling which hurts the buisness

I've got a bunch of autos, but have never ever eeever paid for one. I think it means something extra when you actually go in person and somehow get it. Be it waiting at that little slot at Fenway or hanging out outside the players exit at City Of Palms Park...it's awesome. Call me a nerd, but even kind of a rush. I chased Manny's low-rider red Impala 3 blocks this year, he rolled down his window, finally, and laughed at me. I couldn't really hold a conversation with him cause I was too fat and out of shape haha. But he gave it to me! He probably imagined himself having to run 3 blocks...he'da been worse off than me :)

Alright...I'll pose a question...of all the CURRENT professional atheltes you've ran into IN PERSON, who has been the nicest? I think it goes so far when guys go out of the way to treat fans well.

Roger Clemens. Real nice guy, carries conversations well, and contrary to popular belief on this board, he does care about people other than himself. Family friends of mine are pretty close with Roger and his family, and he seriously is a great guy. Everytime I hear on this board about him being an arrogant son of a bitch I want to go ripshit because I know it's not true. Roger's a great guy.

absoultely sal fasano. me and my friend were at a red sox-phillies spring training game this year, and we were on the phillies side looking for a ryan howard or pat burrell. fasano came over, signed a couple, and started a conversation. hes one of those practical players who knows hes lucky to be here, and after the game he went out of his way to come back to us and shake our hands and give us his batting gloves.

Yea when's a good time at fenway to get autographs cause nobody ever signs, They used to after the games at the gate where the players leave but even that doesnt happen anymore.

O yea I've hear schilling is an ******* to people that ask for autographs, that comes straight from the Sportsworld store in Saugus, those guys practically know everyone on the team and have stated before that schilling and wakefield are among the worst when it comes to dealing with fans
