My pitching motion kinda looks like Petite's cept I'm a righty. Once in a while I'll go sidearm, which is actually more comfortable for me, but I wind up hitting the batter half the time.

When batting, I vary between Chuck Knoblauch's stance when I'm just trying to make contact (Chuck had a classic slap hitter stance, with the bat almost above the catcher's mitt), and if I'm trying to drive the ball, I like to use Paul O'Neill's stance (naturally) cuz I like to use the leg as a sort of timing device. Sometimes I'll goof around and do Bagwell's stance, but my legs gets tired after 2 or 3 pitches.

I recoil after my thows kinda like Pedro, which means I'll probably have shoulder problems kinda like pedro. I kick my leg with my knee pointed toward the SS kinda like Kevin Brown.

I don't have a batting stance, I kinda just stand there and pull my hands in as best I can and try to drive it. I usually ground out. Its cool.

I actually tried the Sheff stance for a bit, but I struck out 3 times. I have no clue how the hell he moves the bat aorund like that and still hits the ball. Same with Tony batista's stance, how these guys move around so much and still launch the ball is amazing.

Kevin Gregg- pitching. I have hardly any leg kick as I drive to the plate rather quickly. Makes my fastball look faster.

Pujols- hitting. I sit on my back leg, but my hands arent as high

I try to emulate as many people as I can when I actually get around to playing baseball...

Batting: Manny, Bagwell, I did Nomar for awhile, Sheffield until he became a Yankee but it was hard to hit the ball

Pitching: I goof around alot with pitching so I do Pedro, Schilling, Mark Prior, try sometimes Arroyo, Zito (Righty).

But I'm terrible at baseball so when I'm doing this its like in my fornt yard or just hitting balls at the local Jr. High for fun.

My left batting stance is almost like JD Drew's and my right one is a closed stance. Kinda like Vinny Castilla's.

I experiment with swings when I go to the cages and I noticed that with a sheff swing, I can get on top of a high fastball and yack it rather well. It is all about timing, and unfortunately, that violence of a swing is extremely hard to slow down and induces you to look foolish on off speed stuff...

I whiffed all 3 times on fastballs actually. The moving of the bat throws me off. thats why I prefer the Paulie or Blockhead stances, the bat's always in the same position, and has minimal movement. I tried the Templeton stance when I was younger, I thought it looked cool being a statue

Sheff's got some of the quickest hands in the league, and thusly, can afford for his hands and bat to be moving all around when the pitch comes. It also allows his bat to already be in motion as he decides weather or not to swing. He says it provides his bat more momentum to start his swing, and that transfers to more bat speed through the zone. I'm with you, I tried it once, and, this just in, I'm not as good a hitter as Shef. Nor are my hands as quick. I'll tell you what, when the Sox are in a big situation against the Yanks, and Shef's up, that little bat flip intimidates the HELL out of me. I don't know if that's planned, or just a bonus, but my god for some reason it just freaks me out.

I don't have a picting motion...but if I had to compair with someones it'd be someone simple, like Mussina?

And the only major leaguer who I can compair my swing with would be Ruben Sierra, which is an ugly-ass swing, becuase what I do is when most people take their step, I bring my knee up as high as possible, most of the time to my chest, and then slam it down and swing for the fences. It wasn't a good one, as it got me hit by pitch a lot...but its the only way I could succesfully bat...

 I always have the same feeling when Ortiz is in the box, he just looks very belligerent when he's facing a pitcher, like he had a bad day or something. This is even before he started batting .750 against us. Mo Vaughn used to give me the same feelings. Those two looked like there was no way you were EVER gonna get a fastball past them. I know if I was a pitcher, I'd be intimidated outta my pants.

I dont try to copy anybody's stance. However if you were to compare mine to anybodys I guess you could say a McGwire, A-Rod (except I hold my elbows a little lower), Bernie Williams sort of thing. Just a good, mechanically correct stance. However, due to s***** knees I no longer play competitive baseball. But damn, I miss hitting.

Also, I have the quickest batspeed i've ever seen

..really.

pfft I have quick batspeed too, it's just that the ball is never in the spot where I'm swinging lol

When I pitch I've got a very similar motion as Tim Hudson. At the plate I kinda have the same stance as Chipper.

It's been a L O N G time since I played baseball. My "stance" is identical to Homer Simpson's. :-)

Back when 38 had the road games, I'd be on a bar stool watching the game. Home games, on the couch watching NESN (I HATED listening to Will McD.)

As for my son, my dad and I are teaching him to swing like Ted Williams. Might as well emulate the best!

i stand kind of like trot, and throw like curt or smoltz.

I used to throw like pedro, like literaly copy him, but hes damn good at his motion.
