3 outings, 3 wins. AN ERA of 1.64 tonight. Yea i would say schilling is back. I applaud him, and him pitching like a god again. This thread, is for everything pro schilling. You got something good to say, say it now.

Only one earned run tonight. He is doing great. I love how he came back, and when he didn't doubt himself, and some of us did(you know who you are), he showed us what he has got.

Keep up the work Schilling!!!!!:D :D :D :D

As far as I was concerned, he never had to get another out after what his did in the 2004 ALCS and WS. Watching him struggle physically last year, it was clear how much he had sacrificed his body and possibly his career by pitching in the '04 post-season. Apparently, he has healed, and he has a lot left in his tank. He's a fierce competitor. When he's pushed up against the wall, he bears down and mows down the opponent. A prime example tonight was his swinging strikeout of Ichiro with the tying run on 3rd and 1 out.

I am sure it helps his confidence to have a stellar defence behind him. That year off was tough, but probably really helped him get rested for this year! He looks really strong, so this year looks promising for him!

As excited as I am about Schilling, it's the Schilling/Beckett combo that has me drooling. If Foulke gets back to his old self like Schilling seems to have, Papelbon will be the entire key to the season (starting or relieving).

Schilling, compared to Beckett, right now really does seem to be the real #1 of the staff. And I'm with 700 on this one - Schill could have come back with nothing for the remainder of his contract with the Sox and I'd be the first one in line to have his number retired forever. Welcome back Schill.

Hey Red, you got that right. Schilling looks like he has really come back to his 2004 form. That is a great plus for us. To me, though, we have to get Manny Ramirez hitting and soon. Two runs is tough sledding for continuous winning and we need Trot and Coco back as soon as possible for speed, talent and experience. I don not have much faith is Wily "K" Pena, and even though Mohr hasn't done badly for us. If we could get a good performance from Tim tomorrow and some good hitting that two game nightmare I witnessed this week against the Jays would be forgotten.

Well said 700. I remember shouting Curt's name last summer at Angels Stadium, and when he turned around I said "Thank you Curt". He nodded and waved his hand in my direction. He has a free pass from me, too. Curt doesn't want that, though. He wants to lead the Red Sox to another World Series Championship, and now he has Beckett as his sidekick and an emerging Jonathan Papelbon closing games like the pro he's become. My only gripe is that Manny hasn't gotten going yet, and some of the others are are cruise control offensively. That, plus we need Coco and Trot back as soon as possible. Be aware, though. I was at the Toronto series and the Jays are for real. They are a vastly improved team and when we play them again we cannot afford to send our fourth and fifth pitchers out against them. We have to give them our best.

Then I ahve no idea here I've heard that stat from.
I had heard the same thing, and I wasn't sure if it was right. I don't remember where I heard. Warren Spah immediately came to mind. I checked and he won 21 games each year for three years from 38 to 40 and then he won 23 games at age 43. That is a pretty awesome accomplishment. He won 363 games, but didn't win his first until age 25.

After Shill's game last night I had a dream that he went undefeated, won a cy young, and led the Sox back to the World Series.

RJ could easily do that as well with his start.

Well first off, nice avatar. . .you know he's a Met right (sarcasm)...

Anyways, RJ didn't tear his ankle tendon, nor did he pitch the Yankees to a world series victory.

yea i woke up to a 3-0 record and a 1.64 era.

I wouldnt be shocked if he had the same number of wins that he has after 3 games after 33 games

Yeah, but nobody is confusing you for a MENSA member*.

*I feel the need to say this so you don't have a heavy flow day. I'm just going tit for tat with you since you like to talk s***.

I have no problem with the response ;)

The whole reason I made that post was start the little "tit for tat" battle. No harm, no foul. :D

Omaha, you bet it is. Now if we can get our hitting going again maybe Clement and Wakefield can add to the win list and help themselves get around 15 wins apiece. That would really help us win the East. I also keep hearing there is some possibility that Roger Clemens might sign with us. I'll believe it when I see it but it would be great for us if he did.
