  1. yea donnelly was pretty solid. but it's too early still to judge anything. but hopefully what we saw tonite, is what we get for the rest of spring training and the season too.
  2. it's soo damn hard to come by a good closer these days. this news of paps moving back into the closers role is good new to my ears. hopefully lester has a good showing in spring training to make this possible.
  3. The only reason I "enjoy" reading the crap that Shaughnessy pukes out is to make the rest of the articles seem better.
  4. hey, it's been a while since i last posted here, so 'hi' to everyone again. as for the matsuzaka deal, i'm still a little questionable. sure he is a good pitcher. we can project this and that, but i'm going to hold off judgement on wether this was a good deal or not. at the beginning of the season he may be lights out like how beckett was at the beginning because the hitters in the AL were not used to him; the same could go for dice. ok, so he lit up the japaneese leagues. so did nomo. and another hing, offering a 6 year deal (?), if he ends up being a total bust, which i hope he isn't, but hypothetically speaking, the sox are going to have to eat his major contract because no one will want him. sorry if this is all obvious or already discussed, i didn't backread. there's my two cents.
  5. isn't zito a free agent after this season?! so we wouldn't have to trade any?
  6. i would much rather have someone like a zito than dinardo. thought dinardo has done pretty much all that is asked of him, zito would possibly give the sox more edge instead of a game being a toss up with dinardo on the mound as much. shill wake beckett clement zito bullpen: papelbon tavarez dinardo delcarmen foulke timlin hansen i would have to say that would be pretty solid none-the-less.
  7. oh man what a good night: f***ing sox won, im donrw with classes for the year, possibly under the influence, and did i mention that the sox won!!?! youk is on fire, two ove r the monster in two days. papi = clutch (duh)! mods feel frere to erase this, 'cuse tmorrrow im not going to remember posting this.
  8. yea. not only scoring, but scoring with runners in scoring position instead of just stranding them like the sox were doing before the tampa bay series.
  9. hahaha funny you brought this up. it crossed my mind too during the game.
  10. under. theo and the front management has already shown this year a lack of patience, as was the case with bard. but if seanez throws good in the next few outings and does not give up a long ball or some runs and basically stops the bleeding, then obviously, he will stick around to see the all star break. but if this s*** continues, his ass is going to be sent packing.
  11. yea that had to be clement's last inning. thought that slide piece he droped right there was pretty sick.
  12. GOD DAMNIT Bombs-Away-Overbay!!
  13. it also sucks that papelbon's streak had to come to an end. all good things have to come to an end i guess. but, this loss is hard to swallow because i thought we had it. damn! oh well hopefully clement can get his s*** together for tomorrow.
  14. yea i just got done up-chuckin in the bathroom.
  15. im getting that itch junkies get when they cant get high. im might not make it through the night if tonite's game is called. arg!
  16. yea i am waiting for the vintage reds to show up. once nl hitters begin to face him for the second or third times, hopefully they will be smart enough, and realize to jump on his fastball. but if his numbers hold up, he will be in the all star game. probably not the starter, as someone mentioned earlier cuse mad dog maddux is having a career season, and that is saying a lot for that man.
  17. sickning i agree. someone needs to do something about it and that is one reason why i am becoming a teacher.
  18. HAHA ok then. The Sox must have been a 1 man team before Manny found his bat in Toronto last week. But I guess you cant rebuke the statement that wang sucked balls though. you just admited he walked 7, but i guess that constitutes a good outing in your eyes.
  19. if i can remember correctly, the bases were loaded more than once for the sox throughout the course of the game. which either proves that: wang sucked, the sox were hitting or possibly a combo of both. i mean, jesh!, even mark loretta got the game winning knock and he couldn't hit the back side of a barn before that, i think he was 15-89 before last night. and to deliver that winning knock, let's see who was on base for him to drive in: oh yea two players not named manny or big papi. though they both had a big night and had clutch hits, the win last night was a collective team effort. if i am wrong on any of these facts Rivernator, please correct me oh almighty god of baseball knowlege and while you are at it, hike up your skirt you f'in pansy and accept the fact that you got beat.
  20. Beckett is going to come tomorrow throwing fire and sitting down yanks before they have a chance to stand. once the sox's batters break chacon and get to the yankee bullpen, especially the middle relief, it's going to be a feast. then it will be time to pop a papleboner and boom! game over. eventhough it is may, any win against the yankees is big because it could mean so much at the end of the season. does last season ring a bell?
  21. this whole thread, to quote wedding crashers is "erroneous, erroneous on both accounts".
