The Yanks cant get revenge against the Sox for 2004 unless they too come back down from 0-3 in whatever next ALCS they play' date=' only way I see of them getting exact revenge. Playoffs speak loud more than regular season games, especially ones in August when it was apparent the Sox were falling fast anyway with a depleted team[/quote']

That was my point. If the sox could hold up their end of the bargain and actually make the playoffs, maybe the yanks would have a shot at it.

You hang your hat on those ten days 2 years ago. I'll hang my hat on the other thousands and thousands of days before and after that. And the other thing that the yanks have accomplished that can't be beat. Only duplicated. 26 times.

Does the mention of the number 26 in your house require a drop cloth and tub of vaseline? I'm betting it does.

I'll make you a bet. It will be memorialized for the life of TalkSox.com. I win if the Red Sox get 4 more championships before the Yankees choke us in the ALCS like we they got choked in 2004.

I don't think either of us will live that long.

Rochester is not bad. Buffalo and Syracuse are pretty run down and ugly. As for the school stuff, it's pretty clear you didn't go to college. There's no reason to take it out on those of us who do.

Once again though, it's not like you and 700 live in Boston. I don't see what the big deal is.

In other news, I hit on the raffle for playoff tickets. Now I'm trying to decide whether or not I go to the ALDS or spend a little more for the ALCS.

You guys won't be playing the Angels for sure, so I recommend saving it for the ALCS.

whether or not i went to college isnt important

when i was your age i knew better than to live in rochester ny

you dont need to be a member of mensa to figure out rochester just sucks

when i went to college in 1983 i was making 3.25 an hour in the winter working in a sandwhich shop and working as a carpernter in the summers making much better money

so when the chance came i said f*** that college s***

i joined the union

i'd get laid off every december and go to work for my uncle under the table and my unemployment checks would be forwarded to my uncles house in miami

i was collecting 500.00 a week

and making 12bucks cash under the table

i was making 40K in 1983 which was more than my mother who is a registered nurse

i was vested in the stock market before you were born, without a trust fund or inheritence

i lost more money in my 401k after 9-11 than you will make in probably your 1st 5 years of working.....

and i'll still be retired at 55 comfortably

school??

f*** school

i have a dozen maybe 15 college grads working for me

all have more degrees than a thermometer

all under 30 are in debt out their asses

all answer to me at the end of the day

and i suspect in 10 years i'll be working for a few of them

which is fine too

i respect education big time

i got my little brother a job with me 1 summer lugging dry wall before he went to holy cross

he decided that school was less painful

and after his obligation to the navy he went to law school and finished #1in his class at tulane law class of 1998 in case you wanted to check it out

anyways

1st thing i do when interviewing a college grad or intern is to find out who is paying their bills for them

i dont want a kid who has no clue what the outside world is all about

gimme the kid who put himself thru school and has actual work experience that doesnt consist of opening his hand to his daddy and i'd take him over the self proclaimed genious who is an unemployed english major but is good in poetry and knows how to break down a sentence with proper punctuation syntax and grammar.

you seem like a boy who needs attention

i have kids a wife a mother in law and at this time 6dogs living eating from my daily grind

what exactly are your obligations??

getting a 3.0 so your dad will pay your next semesters tuition??

getting up for 830 to make your floor hockey game??

sitting on your hand till it falls asleep so when your jerk off it feels like someone else is doing it??

see

youre still a child when you think about it kiddo

busting boston redsox fans about johnny damon and curses and division titles and tshirts and the working people of america may get you off while you beat your skippy in your college dorm room

but it wont help you get laid, rich or educated in the real world sonny

nope

i suspect you'll start learning about manhood when you wear that yankee gear in the wrong place at the wrong time and you end up eating from a blender for a couple months because somebody who didnt go to college wanted to take his frustrations out on your face

Earlier this year, one of the Yankee fans here speculated on why so many people hate the Yankees. The expected conclusion was "jealousy". I surmised that it had something to do with the fanbase. Apparently, I'm not alone.

This article agrees with me, with different types of Yankee fans taking the top-3 spots of a list of 10 reasons.

A sample:

1. Arrogant Yankees fans: When I moved away from New York for a few years in the mid-'90s, my anti-Yankee feelings softened. I even found myself rooting for the likable '96 champs, especially since Mets fans always enjoy watching the Braves lose. Then I moved back to New York and realized anew what drove me most crazy about the franchise -- its fans. Yankees fans have a greater sense of entitlement that the Hilton girls. If, heaven forbid, the Yanks ever failed to make the playoffs, Bombers backers would view it as a sign of the apocalypse. Consider that this fan base has just in the last decade turned on both the greatest hitter (A-Rod) and pitcher (Roger Clemens) of their generation because they didn't instantly deliver a World Series title. "Spoiled" would be a step up for these louts.

Pay my own tuition.

Married.

Full time job at 50k/year.

Full time class schedule at night.

Should have my bachelors by March.

My biggest losses started to mount beginning March 2000. 9/11 didn't help that situation any.

You've got me beat by five dogs, otherwise we got the same thing going on right down to the mother in law. It really gets to be fun when the kiddies go to college. Those are some nice bills.

That's a great line. I notice that he didn't address that in his response.

I knew enough to stop wearing my Red Sox gear at Yankee Stadium at about age 13. Once I had hair on my balls, I knew that I was fair game to get the crap kicked out of me.

Good post Mr. Crunchy! Very enjoyable and true.

Wow, what the f*** crawled up your ass? We're not even allowed to celebrate a division title without you people taking it so personal you have to make personal insults? You want to talk about growing up, you may want to grow up a little bit, yourself.

Roger Clemens' first year in New York was 1999. The Yankees won the World Series in 1999. Whoever wrote that needs to check up on facts before publishing something as ridiculous as that.

I wasnt going to boast about a division title, but after seeing how bitchy you guys get, I have no Choice...

Yeah you would and you know it. The Padres, Mets, and the two Braves teams were the National League champions those years. It's not like we went and beat up on a minor league team. As for the Diamondbacks and Marlins; yes, they are expansion franchises, but those teams weren't expansion teams. Expansion teams dont have players like Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Matt Williams, Luis Gonzalez, etc. And say what you want about us losing to the Marlins and Diamonbacks; at least we had the opportunity to lose to them in the World Series. And as for us choking away 2004, you're absoultely right. Yankee fans dont dny that, nor do we make excuses for it. We don't whine about it. We just come back and try to right the ship. It was brutal, and you guys embarrassed us. But i'd much rather feel heartbreak one year and success most other years, than feel heartbreak EVERY year and success just once. Stop your f***ing whining. We took, and still take brutal treatment because of 2004, but we dont whine about it. You guys are here whining and making excuses, while making yourselves look ridiculous in the meantime, about us celebrating our division title in a season in which people wrote us off.

No, I'll keep the 2004 title, because the highlight reel from that post season is the perfect script. It was better than any wet dream of any Red Sox fan. No one could have ever hoped for it. The destruction and humiliation of the choking Yankees was completely devastating. On all of your highlight films in your Championship years there was a 5 game series against a heavily under-dogged Red Sox team in 1999, but the only memorable game in that series was the Pedro-Clemens matchup... and we know how that turned out.

This is rich. Not only are you one of the prick Yankee fans that are part of the reason for the dislike of the NYY, but you even lay the blame on everyone else for your behavior. Classic.
