5.74 -- Nice ERA for Unit

Choke jobber with sub-par defense, Alex Rodriguez-- $25 million

Supposed to be ace of yankees staff, Randy Johnson-- $18 million

Seeing them underperform under the Yankee Stadium lights-- priceless

He's over 40 years old. What's Beckett excuse for having a 5+ ERA?

His fastball is clocking 95-98, hes just placing it right over the plate. Its all about a game of inches

Besides RJ is being paid the big bucks to be the ace. Beckett came into this season as the #2 guy, behind the bonafide Curt Schilling whos pegged to possibly become a 20 game winner again.

That's weird, I thought Zito was pitching today. A Zito vs. Moose matchup would have been interesting (despite Zito's career full of struggles against the Yankees.)

Zito actually pitched a great game last time out against the Yanks. I think he lost like 2-1 against Wang.

EDIT: It was a 2-0 Yankees win over Zito and the A's.

Thomas had a killer AB, and then smoked a ball down the 3B line for a homer. The thing probably didn't even get 30 ft. off the ground.

Career OPS of .995 (top-15 all-time), 450+ dingers, 2000+ hits.....yeah, I put him in the hall.

Moose has been a little fortunate already. He's had 3 hard hit balls go right to, or within quick react range of, fielders.

I'd rather punch staples into my nose than listen to Michael Kay talk about anything. His condescending pontification fits the fanbase very well though, so I can see why he's liked by Yankee fans.

EDIT: There's another rocket right at someone.

Hey Swisher, in your next AB you might want to remember that you are guaranteed to see the front-door 2-seamer with 2-strikes. Moose always uses that pitch against lefties with 2-strikes, so LOOK FOR IT.

I believe all of Mussina's K's (Including the last on on Chavez) have all been on that 2 seamer. Swisher didnt help himself swing at those 2 change ups in the dirt.

I think thats pretty inaccurate IMO. I only know Optimist and another yankee fan on this board that likes him. All of my Yankee fan friends hate his guts, if you go on the Yesnetwork board (yes that piece of trash) hes hated there also.

I don't like Kay. I was joking about these two in the booth right now.
