I'm really impressed with Cano's defense this year. Bowa did a good job this spring with him.

yeah, he's been very good. Since Spring Training we saw a rapid improvement with this kid.

As for Pavano, hopefully he can come back and do something good for us. That sure would be nice.

The YES commentators just pointed out something about the team the Yankees put out on the field today. 5 of the 9 guys in the lineup are from the Yankee farm system (Jeter, Williams, Cano, Phillips, and Cabrera.) I found that interesting.

Oh, and while we're on the game, 3 run shot by A-Rod! 3 - 0 Yankees!

Sturtze = Seanez

which one do you think is better?

tough call

I have never seen anything like this before. This guy is automatic BP. By the way, Scott Proctor is the f***ing MAN and bails out Squirtz!!!!! We need to DFA him soon. We have help on the way, JB Cox is kickin ass in the minors and Dotel is close. PLEASE GET RID OF HIM!!!!!

wow, now their like 12-0 in day games...good win, lets follow up with the same tomarrow(Though the win itself wasn't that good, becuase of the Jeter Error, Farns needed to work a little extra, but in a sence, any wins a good win)

Would you look at this? Wow, I didnt know he started this good.

Jeter after his first 153 games/ Cano after his first 153 games

562 vs 604 AB's

87 vs 89 runs

167 vs 182 hits

0.303 vs 0.301

8 vs 16 HR's

71 vs 73 RBI's

Is that better?

The idea behind it is that once Pavano or Dotel return, Erickson will be DFAd. I guess Joe didnt want to DFA Sturtze and bringing up anyone else would have meant losing them for good. So Cash chose Erickson over Sturtze as the man to be DFA'd...

If I am not mistaken, the Yankee roster looks like this:

C-Posada, Stinnett

1B-Giambi, Phillips

2B-Cano, Cairo

SS-Jeter

3B-Rodriguez

OF-Damon, Williams, Crosby, Cabrera, Reese

SP-Johnson, Mussina, Chacon, Wang, Wright

RP-Rivera, Farnsworth, Myers, Villone, Proctor, Small, Erickson

I also think Dotel is an underrated signing. He was a pretty good closer in Oakland, and he can bring the heat, but I don't know anymore with his injury. He should be a decent setup man. I was hoping the Sox would get him under the table.

Dotel was a bust as a closer in Oakland. When healthy he can be a pretty dominant setup man and it was a solid move by the Yankees to sign him but I don't know what you can expect out of him this year. 2007 is the year I could see him revert to being a dominant pitcher.
